Over the years of non-use and several home moves, a couple of hand knobs
were broken off (cross slide hand knob and the compound slide knob). I
have contacted Clausen and they want about $25 each for these knobs which
is about twice what they should be. Anyone have a source for these knobs?

Preston,
Many of the larger general mail order tool houses, such as Rutland, MSC,
etc, and a few specialty toll manufacturers, have in the past carried misc
handwheels of many types. I have bought several cast iron wheels from MSC
for replacement tool handwheels. The castings were imported and in the
rough, meaning they required machining, but the castings themselves were
beautiful and rtelatively inexpensive. I think I paid $7.50 for a 4" wheel.
