I second this.? I got a Phase-II brand clone of the Aloris-style
toolpost, and it was a HUGE improvement in both rigidity and
repeatability.? You could take the tool (with the holder) off,
swap to another tool, and then put it back exactly.
These come in wedge and piston styles.? I had the piston style
one on my Atlas, and it was fine.? I now have a wedge style on my
15" Sheldon lathe, and it is fine, too.? Usually the wedge types
are more expensive.
