First,? If you are under Warranty, I wouldn't give up so quick.? Appliances are not cheap!
Not sure about Big George, but I would 2nd Heydlauff's.? They were always reputable.? Otto (retired?) was their repair guy but only serviced machines they sold.?? They have since bought out "Master Tech Appliance Service"? (734) 662-0641 and are out and about.
I recently had a Bosch Dishwasher repaired.? Ask them to send John to come out for your service, he knows what he is doing!

I know the?soap isn't the problem this time, because the start button is sticking and the repair dude said it needs a new circuit board,?which would?cost more than buying a new washer. I figure I might as well see if anyone has helpful thoughts for the other problem before I try to buy a new?one.?

I've had horrific experiences buying from several (most recently Menard's and Maytag direct, previously Lowe's and Home Depot), and my patience with this is well past its expiration date. I buy the?dishwasher, I add installation, they schedule?delivery, then they show up and say there is no installation in my area.? I've lived here 26 years, and have had to replace the dishwasher 5 times. I used to be able to arrange installation, but the last two times I've tried to buy a new dishwasher, I've run into problems with that part, and it's a huge HUGE hassle. I'm a person with disabilities, and they expect to leave the dishwasher in my driveway and have me sort it out later. I tried that once, and the second time I tried returning it to the warehouse (after which it took several MONTHS to be reimbursed).?

The dishwasher that needs a new circuit board is a Maytag that was purchased in February 2019 with a 10-year-warranty, but I don't know that I want to fight the battle to try to get them to honor the warranty. Honestly, right now, I'm so fed up with Maytag, I wouldn't be happy with a replacement if they gave it to me for free. However, my son and I both have disabilities that make it basically impossible for us to do dishes by hand, so I need to find a solution. I'm kind of at my wit's end. I've spent a lot of hours over the past year trying to find a solution.?
