Re: 4-6-2 parts
Hi Jeff, Welcome to the A1G group. Attached are the three pages of the Atlas service manual for the Pacific (4-6-2). I guess I don't understand what you mean by, "...the front 4 attaches to."

4-6-2 parts
I'm looking for any legible parts list, for an Atlas 4-6-2 ATSF n scale. Mostly looking for screws and whatever it is that the front 4 attaches to.. Thank you, Jeff

Re: worm screw, normal or excessive wear ?
Might put on a listing a N Scale Yard Sale after you join up. It's found on Yahoo. Someone might have a loco that's not running and/or parts you might need to get your back to running shape.

Re: worm screw, normal or excessive wear ?
Ah, I?didn't realize it could be that bad QA. I have two locomotives that when going forward it makes a loud noise, when going in reverse they run very smoothly. One locomotive has since started

Re: worm screw, normal or excessive wear ?
I guess what I should have said by normal is normal for Mehano and their spotty production and QA. I doubt that the worm is actually worn that much on the end instead of it just being molded

Re: worm screw, normal or excessive wear ?
In my case, the right side isn't fully flat. The left side has about 2mm of plastic before the screw starts, while the right side (seems) to be worn past the non-screw part straight to the screw.

Re: worm screw, normal or excessive wear ?
Hi Nicolas, That's normal. The ends are flat like that. When you install the worms into the gear towers, put washers on either side of the worm to center it and keep it from moving back and forth

worm screw, normal or excessive wear ?
Can anyone tell me if the right side of this worm screw is worn out or if that is the way its supposed to be ?

Auto Carrier
I never really cared for the Auto Carrier that Atlas offered, too me it was "very toy like" in looks. Found this 1960 photo of a Frisco Lines auto carrier, for the most part it fairly close to what
