Can anyone tell me if the right side of this worm screw is worn out or if that is the way its supposed to be ?
Im trying to refurbish a few atlas locos from the 70s and following the information on the main site, which has been very helpful.
This worm screw seems worn out, but its this way on the 3 locos so Iam not sure if that's the way its supposed to be, or if all 3 simply wore out more or less the same.
More reason I think it is worn out, in reverse it goes very smoothly but forwards it makes noise, the right side is the side that makes contact when going forward.
The right side also has a brass/copper washer + bushing?like on the left side, but not shown in the picture.
