Re: AIG Pacific - Soft Drivers

I would try to find replacement drivers on eBay, either from a seller selling Atlas steamer parts or buy a parts unit with the drivers intact. If your drivers have actually gotten soft, which would be caused by some substance that attacked them, like a non plastic safe lubricant or solvent, gluing them probably won't work permanently.

Greetings all!
I have an Atlas 1G Pacific I am attempting to resurrect.
Upon disassembly, I notice the drivers are made of a dark gray material and are rather "soft".
They are so soft I fear they will not stay in gauge once the unit is reassembled.
Can anyone shed any light on this matter?
Are they supposed to be soft like this . . . if not, is there a cure?
I know this is a long shot, but are there replacement drivers available or does anyone have a set of drivers they would sell or "loan"?
Thanks in advance.
Dan
