(Gen) "I don't know if I'm actually in the Academy," Gen said, biting his lip. "Not yet, anyway. I was kind of checking the place out, from the outside, last night. And this nice lady saw me and invited me in, even though it was the middle of the night. I haven't seen her since then and I haven't been processed at all." The androgyne perked up at the prospect of food. "I did eat something earlier, but that was a while ago and I'm hungry again. I... I kind of have this high metabolism, because of all the things my body was designed to do. So I have to eat a lot more than... than ordinary people do." (Akira) Akira paused when Gen said, "designed to do", "so you were made by someone? That's different. Most us are born with our abilities, not created to have them. Let's head to the chow hall. The androgyne looked around uncertainly as the students in the hall all seemed to be heading somewhere with purpose. I don't really know where I'm supposed to be." He realized that he was still holding on to the boy's hand. It felt nice and warm and reassuring, but he forced himself to let it go. "We are all heading to our next classes. Who brought you in to the Academy? Usually new students are taken to the office for in processing. Maybe we should start there, come along." He followed the other boy's example and found a spot on the ground near the same logs. "I take it she runs the place? Seems nice enough. I wasn't sure what to expect." He glanced around at the surrounding school grounds. "I was half-expecting bars and guards and stun-sticks. But this place is more like some high school or college. One for the upper class, even." He looked back to Donny. "And everyone here's a... mutant?" He said the word carefully, remembering his correction from Misty about using the word "mutie". "What's your schtick, then?" (Donny) "Misty, in charge, Gawd no. She is more the welcome wagon. Mia and Del are the ones in charge so to speak. They actually built the place and wanted it to be a safe haven for mutants. Not everyone is a mutant...some of the teachers aren't. Yes, we have teachers because we are to get an education as well as learn to hone our abilities." (Victoria) Victoria watched her brother closely. The beauty of being more werewolf than vampire was that she could smell and pick up on subtle changes in one's biology. And increase heart rate. A petite Asian male with long flowing jet black hair and green eyes said as he stopped to greet Gen, "I'm Akira." He said holding out his hand in welcome hand shake. (Roddy) Roddy began to look frustrated. "I came out to find you because this girl suggested that I should. I mean, if I'm going to be living here, I'd kinda like to find out more about it from someone who already lives here. Wouldn't you?" (Gen) Gen woke. It took a moment for him to orient himself in the unfamiliar surroundings. He remembered coming to the building, being invited inside, eating, and then collapsing from exhaustion. "Uhm, I hate to ask, but is there anything to eat on hand?" The androgyne shrugged in apology. "Because of the way I was designed, I'm kinda hypermetabolic. I need it to fuel all of the different things my body can do." (No response) As Gen finished speaking, there was no response. He was in a room by himself. (Roddy) "I'm Roddy," he began. "Don't ask me what it's short for. And I came to seek you because Misty told me you were around and nobody else seems to be." (Draven/Bridget) Draven decided that he and Bridget needed a little more time together, just the two of them, "say, are our favorite pets still around or are they off in the hills playing?" Bridget lit up, "nope, they are here. Shall we go and have a ride?" Draven turned their trip and they headed down a small alleyway to the livery. He woke up his computer and started putting together his emails for the potential clients for the five humans that his sister hadn't had matched to anyone. "Besides, she loves providing us the humans that she had used for the vampire blood supply, because she doesn't have to worry about erase their memories or killing them to keep them quiet." (Katya) Once the shooter had been apprehended, the lock down on the Midnight Society had been lifted and everyone quickly and quietly left the building to return to their lives. (Hollywood/Diego/Troops) As soon as Ari raised his gun to Diego's head, he too was suddenly surrounded by guns and Hollywood smiled for a moment, then spoke, her own gun aimed as well, "Ariein, I think you are slightly out numbered. She is coming with us one way or another. What's it going to be? Alive or dead?" She knew that Diego would take a bullet for her and he wouldn't back down. Draven scooped her up into his arms and sat on the tree stump that she had been hiding behind. "What do you think is going to happen when the new baby comes?" Bridget sniffled, whipped her nose with her sleeve, "you won't love me anymore." "Oh, now, you know that isn't true. Your momma still loves you just as much as your little brother.
