Whisper In The Dark.
开云体育(Callum, Jaimie) ? The feeling of a woman in his arms again for the first time in months was warm and comforting. To hold and to be held.? He had missed those simple pleasures more than he realized.? Without thinking, he held Arowyn closer still, conscious only of the fact that she was alive and there for him when his wife, so lost in her grief, was not.? His thoughts, centered as they were on the moment he was sharing, were suddenly disrupted by the sound of a young voice coming up from behind. ? "Och, thare yer m' laird," Jaimie said, speaking a little louder than he'd intended.? He quickly turned his head to the side, feeling distinctly uncomfortable to have walked up on what might have been an intimate moment between his master and his lady's sister.? Behind him, the large black stallion he was holding by the reins huffed impatiently, while a young dog explored the stones of the ruins, sniffing at them in curiosity.? ? "Ah thought mibbie ye micht be wanting tae tak' a hurl aroond th' estate," the young Scot ventured, keeping a grip on the reins. "Tae... Tae keep an yak yin hings." The boy looked apologetic as he ducked his head towards Arowyn.? "Ah didnae ken ye wur 'ere, mistress arowyn, or a'd hae brought th' mare." ? (Scheherazade, Aroywn) ? She could feel his pain and his hurt and his loneliness. She held him tight to herself. Holding him close, whispering soft encouragement in his ear. Willing strength into him. She knew her sister was hurting. She had held her while she cried. Kirstene had cried so hard that eventually she had no tears left. Aroywn had held her until Kirstene went quiet, sitting limp and lifeless in her arms. She knew they were going through so much. Loosing two babies—one at birth and then the other a few days later was more than any of them could take. But Callum was loosing not only his children, but his wife. ? “I am here. I will not leave you. Neither of you,” she whispered. ? It was then that Jaimie came up behind them. Aroywn did not move away. She had nothing to be ashamed of. Callum was family and right now family was hurting. “Maybe the ride will help you clear your mind.”

"Jaimie," he went on without taking his eyes off of her, "go fetch the mare.? There's a lot of the estate that Mistress Arowyn hasn't seen yet.? Ah'm sure she'd like a chance to ride over some of it. The young scot hesitated, but finally ducked his head in dutiful - if reluctant - acknowledgement.? "Aye, m' laird.? Ah wull fetch her noo 'n' be back as soon as ah kin."? He turned slightly to give Arowyn an awkward acknowledgement as well, then ran back towards the part of the castle where the stables were.? "You'll have to forgive Jaimie," Callum said as he patted his horse's neck.? "Ah think that he's been a bit smitten by you ever since you came here.? And this... tragedy..." his voice grew soft and melancholy "has only added to his awkwardness.? He was very devoted to Kirstene, and the loss and her withdrawal into herself has been hard on him." The man forced himself to smile again.? "But he's a good lad and ah'm sure he'll find his footing again."? He glanced at Arowyn as he added "As must we all.? Aye, as must we all." Tag -?(Scheherazade, Aroywn) Translations of Jaimie-speak: "Yes, my lord.? I will fetch her now and be back as soon as I can." |

The way he looked at her right now... if she were to be honest ...if she were to tell the truth they were butterflies in her stomach. “I doubt he’s smitten with me,” She said. “for I am just just a girl. Just the second daughter of a simple farmer.” She said with a blush. Pushing her hair back behind her ear.? ?And while a statement on the surface was true, it was a severe understatement. For although Aroywn’s father was indeed a farmer...He was also a Highland Laird...which is where the castle came from. Her father Conner has gifted Kirstene and Callum their ancestral family castle as their wedding gift. “Thank you for allowing me to come with you.” |
