Re: Troy Rising: Through the Sea of Trees, to the Well of Souls (RESEND) (attn Cal, tag open)

(Cal)

?Cal was not at all thinking this through as he was frowning.? He knew he needed to go.? It made no sense, cities don¡¯t just appear out of thin air.? ¡°So there is no emissary or no contact with the people there?? The flash of light came from there as well so what is to make of that unless we¡I go and check it out?¡±? He gazed upon her pondering this.? His mind wondering what magic might have brought across an entire city if this report was to be believed and what kind of foreboding did this entail?

How far is it?¡±? He was glad they had elven contacts, but he wasn¡¯t sure if they would be friendly to him just going in and asking questions.? The city had all but taken over, he was lost on what that alone might have meant for the habitat and vegetation?? ¡°I can set off in the morning.¡±? He looked at the map for any potential Ley Line contingency cause it might be a long trek otherwise and needing to run away on a tired horse was no idea of fun for him.

¡°Do you have a place for me to stay for the evening?¡±? He asked the politeness in his tone apparent.

"Well we aren't a full tavern by any stretch," she smiled, "but we do have accommodations for fellow countrymen who want to avoid prying eyes."

Examining the finely detailed map, if the rough coordinates were reasonably accurate, the distance was about a hundred miles, give or take.? Not the easiest hundred miles either.? There were no direct roads going that direction, which meant hiking through incredibly dense forest and all the joys that entailed.? He could make it easier on himself by taking passage on one of the trawlers going north, but it was almost as slow.

Fortune must've been smiling on him.? As it happened, there was a minor ley line that crossed with a more powerful line of power leading directly north.? It didn't quite make it all the way there (and with the story of a city plopping down right where an extremely powerful ley line nexus lay further north of that, it was probably a good thing), but it meant turning a trek of a week or more into a day's hike, give or take.

The only drawback?? The elves would instantly know such travel was in use.? They claimed the forest and were intimately aware of the ley lines within.? They probably knew of lines he didn't know about.? That said, the elves were allied with the Queen of the Sword's cause, so there was that to consider.

"Tonight's dinner is beriani dajaj," the lovely agent/restauranteur announced.? "If you would prefer something else, either my father or I can be of service to you."

New Javier Delgado and Sani Redwind (Cartel NPCS)

?

Inside the cartel owned house in Raconteur City, Javier Delgado was reading over reports he¡¯d acquired on the various criminal enterprises at work in this area. Already he was making headway into disrupting the activities of the yakuza and the Jamaican Posse and as soon as they had been brought to their knees, he was ready to work on the smaller operations in and around the city ¨C making way for his mistress and her cartel to come here and take over.

The grizzled looking Hispanic, his hair pulled back in a ponytail, dressed in a black t-shirt and fatigue pants, sat at a desk in the mansion¡¯s study. Across the room, seated on a mat on the floor was young Sani Redwind, a Native American, who sat cross-legged, his eyes closed, deep in meditation.

Delgado flipped a page in the report and continued reading, just as a knock came at the door. He looked annoyed. His human mercenaries, though well-trained and disciplined, at times tended to require more guidance than he wanted to give them.

¡°What is it?¡± he asked, the annoyance in his voice obvious.

The door opened and a big, white male stepped through the door. He was dressed similar to Javier, all in black, an H&K MP-5 submachine gun hanging from a strap on his shoulder.

¡°We¡¯ve got motion detected on the grounds,¡± he said. ¡°Cameras aren¡¯t picking up a thing¡even on thermal.¡±:

Javier gave a snort, ¡°Not everything gives off a heat signature, Mike.¡±

Javier stood and started toward the door. Mike glanced over at Sani and frowned. ¡°That kid is always meditating.¡±

Delgado reached Mike and stood right up in his face, ¡°He has to if he wants to control the beast inside him,¡± his hissed. ¡°Now, show me your disturbance.¡±

Mike nodded and led the vampire to the nearby security suite where there were a couple of mercenaries manning arrays of monitors, watching the grounds intently. Mike went to his console, pulled up the motion sensor that had been trip a couple of minutes earlier, then displayed the video recording of that area of the yard which corresponded with the time on the motion detection hit.

¡°See, nothing,¡± Mike muttered.

Javier replayed it a couple of times, slowing it down over and over until there was a faint image, almost like a shadow, that darted past the camera. Slowly, a smile spread over the Mexican¡¯s face.

¡°We have a visitor,¡± Javier said in a low voice.

Mike nodded, ¡°Not human?¡±
¡°No,¡± Delgado confirmed, standing and stepping back from the monitor. ¡°It¡¯s her.¡±

The mercenary raised an eyebrow, ¡°Her¡you mean the redhead we saw last night watching from the street? The one you said followed us from the docks?¡±

¡°The same,¡± Delgado told him. ¡°Take three of the men, take dogs, sweep the perimeter.¡±

Mike nodded, keyed his walkie-talkie and called three mercs to the security room. He then grabbed several magazines for his subgun. These clips were marked with silver tape. He popped the magazine currently in his MP-5, cleared the chamber and loaded the special clip.

When the other three showed, he looked at them and said, ¡°Arm with silver. We may have a special visitor.¡±

The men nodded and armed themselves accordingly, before heading out the door. As they left, Delgado loaded a silver clip into his sidearm and grabbed his sword off a rack I the security office, next to the weapon lockers.

He returned to the study and secured the metal shudders son the window with the push of a button. As they closed, Sani¡¯s eyes opened and he looked to Javier. ¡°What is it?¡±
¡°Possible intruder,¡± Delgado told him. ¡°Possibly the girl we saw last night.¡±

Sani nodded, ¡°The vampire?¡±
¡°³Û±ð²õ.¡±

¡°Should I¡change¡.go have a look?¡± Sani asked, standing up.

Delgado shook his head, ¡°Not yet. Your transformation here, in the neighborhood our employer intends to make her home at, could lead to some unnecessary attention. I¡¯ll let you know when I need you to change.¡±

Sani nodded. He armed himself with a pistol and a big hunting knife he put into the sheath at his side. The two then waited for security to check things out.

Outside, Mike Jablonski and his team of three mercenaries stepped out of the mansion into the backyard. They had two big German Shepherds on leashes which they used to guide them as they went in separate directions around the house¡

Luke moved. His position was good to see the upper floors but not the best to follow where he thought Scarlott was stalking. There was plenty of brush and small trees to block the view and it took him several minutes to find a decent spot.? He studied the scene through the infrared camera. The poor light worked in its favor but he didn¡¯t pick up any heat signatures.?

He decided to spend a moment looking for water sources. There was a pool in the back of the house. He had recognized the pattern of light off some trees, a reflection of light passing through water. The multitude of water was significant but it would not provide any elemental support. So he spread his awareness around the edges of the property. There was water, no surprise the stuff was everywhere. On the south side near the street was a culvert that ran under the pavement. On both sides water rested uneasily waiting for the next rain storm to push it out to sea. The ditch water led to a larger basin underground near the west side.? That was a large catch, a link to the water table that seemed to be everywhere beneath them.

Satisfied he could pull on those resources in a hurry he settled down and watched the house and what he could see of the surrounding property.?

Then he noticed globs of white through the camera lens. The other light flickered here and there as flashlights danced around as they moved.? They would stand no chance against Scarlott. It was what was unseen that made him nervous.

Re: Blood Feuds: Trying to Survive (Anais, Vincent)

(Anais)
When Anais saw the portable potty chair, she sighed. ?They were really going to make her do this...do her business in front of them. Was there a window in the bathroom because she didn¡¯t understand why they didn¡¯t just let her go in there. She was a pregnant woman after all how much damage could she do to either of them?

¡°Very well,¡± she said and slid off the bed. She was still dizzy so her footing wasn¡¯t as great she realized as she sat up. Moving slowly, she slid onto the potty chair. Her deep expressive blue eyes watching the girls the whole time.

She took the tissue and wiped herself, then she stood and sat back in the edge of the bed. ¡°Thank you. Can I have something to clean my hands please.¡±

(NPCs)
The blonde offered Anais a hand as she saw the the lady was still a little dizzy from the sedative.? She communicated with the other girl who responded.? After Anais was sitting on the chair, they gave her the courtesy of turning around and stepping a few steps away.? They were just following orders even though they knew she didn't realize it.

When they heard the question, the red head picked up the bucket from the chair and carried it into the bathroom, while the other one moved the rest of the chair away and readjusted the chains on the feet end of the bed so that Anais couldn't get off of the bed, but left the wrist ones lose.? The other girl came back out of the bathroom with a basin, soap and towel for Anais to wash her hands.

Once she was finished they put everything away and as they stepped out of the room an brunette came in with a menu for Anais to select what she wished to eat for lunch.? "I am Chantel, the other two were directed to not speak to you or let you out of their sight.? I will be caring for you until are more cooperative with Vincent.? What would you like to eat?" She asked as she handed Anais the menu.

(Callie Carson)

?? Callie reluctantly let go of Flynn. The men were better suited to lug him around. She was tough and strong, but she had her limits. The stench was almost unbearable. These undead were rotting terribly, she surmised from the smell, likely an intentional side-effect of the magic that had reanimated them, along with the natural decomposition caused by the hot sun.

?? She did as Sicilien suggested and ties her bandana around her face, covering her nose and mouth in hopes of keeping the odor away. It was a noble effort, but she could still smell the dead around them.

Re: Port Vega: End of the Beginning.

(Gen)

Gen was only dimly aware when the search-and-rescue team Chord's HQ sent out arrived.? Two of them, an older man named Simmons who was apparently a doctor and a middle-aged woman named Macamber with a security feel to her, stayed with her as the rest began searching the area.

The doctor began checking her for injuries as the security woman asked about what had happened.? She told them everything she could about what she'd seen and heard, but it was like hearing someone else answering their questions.? Inside, she just felt numb.? She didn't resist as they bundled her into one of the helicopters that had come, and soon she was being flown back to the HQ.? Once there, they escorted her to a meeting room and told her to wait there.? She heard the door lock itself as soon as they left the room, but didn't care.? Where would she go, after all?

(NPC Macamber)

Macamber took up a position just outside the door to the meeting room, then called her team.? "Those of you not currently engaged in the search-and-rescue, fan out and find all members of that team Mister Chord had assembled, and then bring them here."? She then sent a text message to the individual team members:? "There's been an incident.? All of you please return to Chord HQ and report to Meeting Room C-15 without delay.? I will brief you when you all arrive."

[Kites]

It felt like Kites had fallen asleep and was dreaming, the scenes flashing before his eyes an amalgamation of the whole day.? None of it made sense.? People, places, voices were all mixed up, jumbled and yet melding together, leaving the winged youth in a panic and cold sweats when he finally woke up with a startle.? It took him a couple of seconds to understand just what had happened and where he was, looking around as his heart beat rapidly against his rib cage.? When the realization that he was still in the facility hit him, Kites was both relieved and anguished at the same time, palming his face as he brushed his hair out of his face.? He slid to the edge of the bed, elbows on knees, leaning his forehead against his fists as he tried to gained some semblance of control over the tumultuous feelings that churned inside.

After what felt like hours, but was probably just minutes, Kites stood up and crossing his arms has surveyed the room.? Promises, promises, but after what happened with Gen as well the conversation with Chord, what was there to keep him from leaving anymore?? Chord dressed him down and told him to step down.? Harrison was sure to be most disappointed in him as well.? Neither Brandon nor Kat were here, nor would he have a clue where to even start looking for them.? This was miserable.? He was miserable, but this wasn't a place that he felt that he belonged to anymore, so he started packing.? There wasn't much.? He came with almost nothing and was going to leave with nothing.? No loss, no gain, it was better than leaving with debt.? But the words that he said, the promise that floated to the forefront of his mind, were a heavy thing in his heart indeed.

Just as Kites finished checking everything, he suddenly got a text on his watch.? The watch that Raine gave him, and the one he'd have to return since he no longer belonged here.? Bringing his wrist up, he tapped the display and the message floated up.? There's been an incident.??There's been an incident.? There's been an incident.? The winged youth paled and for a moment he thought his heart stopped beating.? His body reacted before his mind did.? Throwing on the same training outfit from before, since it was closest and sitting right there on the chair, he was out of the room at the speed of light, diving through the living room and spam pressing the elevator button to go up, foot tapping, nails scraping against his skin as he impatiently waited for the elevator to come down.

"Ugh, why doesn't this supposedly state of the art facility not have a flying hangar, for crissakes?? I would've been there already!" Kites muttered to himself, biting his lips.? At last, the elevator appeared.? "Finally!!? Go, go, go! C'mon!"? He pressed the appropriate floor button, but as if the devil himself was having fun, the doors closed ever so slowly, the floor felt as if it fell out from under him with the speed of molasses, as he paced the interior, looking at the door with every passing second until at last the doors opened and he all but flew to meeting room C-15.? He felt so out of breath, coming up to the woman who seemed to be guarding the door, eyeing the newcomer.

"Uh, hi...I'm um...Kites, one of the recruits here.? I just got this alarming message.? Am..am I the first one here?" Kites asked, eyes wild and wide opened.? Gen was still at the light house when he left...this couldn't...this couldn't be about her, could it?? He felt like he was almost going to faint, heart threatening to jump out of his throat as he wanted for the woman to address him.

OCC: That should have said Chase suggested the bandana, not Sicilian. Apologies...

Re: High Moon Tales. Tales of the Wicked West.

(Flynn)
?
Flynn was helpless, really.? It was taking all of his glamour to maintain the bubble of illusion that was keeping them from being seen, if not by the approaching undead then at least by whatever enemy was commanding them.? He hoped that moving east - or southeast as it was now - would get them out of the undead horde's path in time, but he didn't want to put all of their hopes on it.? Not with the stakes being what they were.
?
Within the dreaming world, he began to cast his gaze downward.? First to the ground, then willing it further, into the ground, into what lay beneath.? Normally he would use this trick to find water, or sometimes to find something that had been buried.? This time though he was having to look deeper, far below the surface, searching for layer of caprock. If he could find caprock, then there was a chance that somewhere below that he could find a cavern.? It was a longshot, he knew, even if he found one.? But it was the best option he could think of.? The only thing he could think of.? He continued his search as they moved, depending on Callie to keep him in the saddle.??
?
?
[Sicilien]
?
When Etienne took charge, Sicilien grinned, hearing that same fiery, headstrong attitude that she so oft displayed in front of him.? He abruptly stood up, turning around as he backed up, raising his arms in an "I give" gesture, palms out, though the toothy grin that graced his face was no less smaller.
?
"Whoa, yes, ma'am!" he enthusiastically exclaimed, laying on the sugar so thick you'd get diabetes from it.? "Ya'll heard the lady.? Let's saddle up!"? He walked up to the horse that he's previously ridden, taking it by the reins as he brought it back to the group.? Irritating the shit out of Etienne aside, a determined, serious look did come upon him as he checked the beats over, tightening all the straps, buckling all of the bags.? He really didn't have much, and anything that he could not afford to lose would be on his person already.? His two revolvers, Amano and Yuki, and the sniper rifle slung across his back.
?
"Alright, taking point," he announced as he maneuvered the horse to the front, turning it so that he could look upon the others, waiting for them to fall in line.? The stench indeed was becoming unbearable.? Though his nose was not quite as sensitive as his beastly friend, one didn't have to be animalistic to feel it start to overwhelm you.? He just hoped that once they headed towards the mountains, that there would a cave or some kind of an outcropping with a roof over their hands so that they can at least take shelter there.
?
"Let's start of with a trot and increase the speed from there as needed.? Callie, I'll rely on you to tell me if we can go faster or if we need to slow down, since you're Flynn's pointwoman.? Okay?? Ready when you lot are."
?
?
{Charity}
?
When the first of the undead shambled into Millers Crossing Charity was perplexed. Not only were they undamaged by battle, meaning that they had not met the Five along the road, but they were not driving the party before them either. She smiled then.
?
"Clever," she muttered, casting her senses across the landscape on the wings of bats and the paws of other nocturnal predators. "Where have you gone? Are we still shielding ourselves from sight? My bats do not use it, my coyotes and wolves use their noses better." She began dancing again, calling to her fauna minions.?
?
The coyotes replied first, howling among themselves as they circled the area where the Five had last been discovered. The scents of the undead covered any faint trace of the party's leaving. Wolves circled further out, far from the road both to the north and south. The bats fluttered about, but the clouds of insects had been drawn to the recent buffet of undead flesh that was still passing along the road.

Finally a single mountain lion picked up the scent. Alone, at Charity's command, it followed the scent trail southeast into the mountains. "Follow and watch," Charity sang to it as she danced, "tell the ravens where they are come the dawn, and then rest."
A cruel smile waxed across the wendigo's face as she added, "I shall have a special task for you when once again night shall fall."
?
Having set the scene Charity turned her attention to the arriving undead. It wouldn't do to have her new subjects messing up her nice little town, they needed new flesh on their bare bones. One by one she danced them into the kiva.
?

?(Chase)

He moved with some focus determination.? It wasn¡¯t that he wanted to live so much as he didn¡¯t want to see others die because he did nothing.? It wasn¡¯t difficult to move Flynn the man was light in his oversized hands.? His strength had been leaking over from his other side for some time making him more dangerous in either form, but even he couldn¡¯t defeat a small army of undead without being effected a little bit.? But he couldn¡¯t take a chance on one of the others getting injured by his bravado or death wish which ever you wanted to call it.

¡°Tie the bandanda over your mouth to stave off some of the stench.¡±? He said seeing the retching look on Callie¡¯s face.? She didn¡¯t look too good actually.? But that was no problem for right now she would feel better once they got to higher ground.

He looked at the giddiness his new traveling companion as he looked at the woman that had once been his.? The smile of recognition even more apparent.? He could be happy for him, the chance to have his love back.? He was lucky.? He would hold on to Flynn as much as his woman would allow him too.? It was far easier at this point to help out and keep moving, this band would truly make this trek memorable if they survived.? He was the other lookout or he would try to be with his own animalistic senses he did his best to stave off the coming headache that threatened to take him out from the stench around them his only hope was to make it to high ground.

(New Callie Carson)

?? The redhead moved her horse into position and lashed it to the others, then looked to Etienne who, from out of nowhere, had basically taken over directing the group. She seemed to have a solid idea, so Callie was not inclined to do otherwise. She then waited to see where they would go next.

Evone¡¯ hugged him tight. ¡°Yes. I am. Now and for always.¡± She said kissing his lips. She felt so loved in this moment. Loved in a way she had never experience before today. He had made loved to her so completely. Touching her in every part of soul.?

Reaching up, She wiped away the sweat from his forehead. ¡°Well weren¡¯t we exceptionally loud.¡± She teased. ¡°I like being loud with you.¡±

(Andrew)

"Loud is perfectly acceptable on an uninhabited island," Andrew replied with a smirk, kissing her forehead with affection.? "Hopefully my crew are knowledgeable enough to _not_ come to investigate."

"The Elusive should be ready to set out again soon," he went on, running his hand idly up and down his lover's bare flank.? "I think our best option would be to continue on to France and go to your father.? Hopefully without another hostile action while we're at sea.? The Elusive was built for speed, not for fighting."? He favored Evone' with an uneasy look.? "We were lucky to have gotten off as lightly as we did.? But at least we achieved our objective:? getting you back safely."

Re: Troy Rising: Meanwhile, in Troy¡

¡°We have Troy Muni that was included in the happening,¡± Jan said, with a grimace. ¡°A small airport off to the northwest.¡±

She made a flying motion with her hand. ¡°A plane that can fly like a bird but at much higher speeds. Imagine one of those dragons but moving at three to tens times faster. Not as dynamic but also capable of high altitudes, above the clouds.¡±

She watched them looking for a glimmer of understanding. ¡°That first day I drove north I noticed a fire around the landing strip but never heard about what happened. I¡¯m sure there are some old Cessna's?that run on oil-based fuel. We should have some modern battery version aircraft. Again I don¡¯t know what we still have. My best guess would be about twenty aircraft. Some may have been used in the past for pest control on the crops. If we could run a flex fuel craft it should be able to make the flight and have enough to return. We could drop a platoon right down on top of those creeps. It would be a suicide?mission. The havoc created might prevent a slaughter here.¡±

Jan seemed to go into that trance like she had before. She canvassed the records available to determine what sort of aircraft were likely to be at the Muni now.

She began to speak, her voice was somewhat robotic, ¡°Lockheed Martin had a testing faculty many moons ago. A few corporate jets. Small aircraft mostly and some gliders.¡±

Jan looked up, ¡°Gliders would make it easy if we knew the exact destination, Longitude and latitude. A jet could easily make that distance and return. If we have any. Jumping out of a Gulfstream might be challenging. Imagine those retro fools seeing an aircraft on the deck at 800 kilometres?an hour! The craft would be Winchester but those fools would be shitting their pants! A nice follow up volley of mortar rounds and they might believe the aircraft did it. Boy, they¡¯d be turning tail I betcha.¡±

Jan stood and paced the room thinking.

¡°I¡¯m an expert at drone manipulation but I have to be in receiver range. Without satellites I¡¯m severely hampered for range. I bet Julian has a drone corridor covered already looking for incursions just beyond our borders. Cessna¡¯s converted into bombers would be devastating against large troop masses. Maybe more effective against likely following supply trains. Do these forces use supply trains? Units or wagons full of supplies to feed the troops? Easy to hit, slow moving targets. Without those supplies the largest armies, especially merc armies might be crippled. Trust me, no food makes for bad morale. An exploding ammo wagon would be a spectacular scene indeed. Of course if our enemies have flying dragons or whatever that can find and hit our small drones or larger craft the idea is crap.¡±

Jan sat down gloomily. ¡°The strike on their capital is our best chance at long term strategy. We might scare them off for a while but if they realize how small our ground forces are they will ignore the small air dominance we display and smash us anyway. Cut off the money and those mercs won¡¯t have a reason to fight.¡±

(New)
"Julian has been arguing similarly at city council," Zafiri nodded.? "He claims, and I agree with him, that as you are, Troy cannot stand alone indefinitely.? Long term plans need to be made, based on the assumption that you and your people are here to stay forever.? That means a lot of things, including the forging of alliances, and something referred to as 'gearing down'.

"This was spoken of quite a bit.? It seems that, without your regular suppliers, you may not be able to sustain all your current wonders.? I didn't understand it all, but it seems that the target is to make a sustainable 20th century base of technology, with what elements can be maintained of 21st century wonders, and a goal to build back.? I stressed that they might want to consider integrating magic, considering it is a factor in this world.

"Right at this moment though, I think there are two priorities:? First, deal with whatever Turriq has in mind.? He'll likely only get one chance to do anything due to the second priority:? Winter.? It's coming, and you have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time."

Scheherezade blinked also. She had to hold his shoulders to brace herself. The shock of what she experienced was jarring. ¡°Yes of course,¡± she said a bit absentmindedly. ¡°Of course,¡± she repeated moving to walk away from him, Putting some space between them. ¡°I should get back.¡± She said walking away forgetting they had ridden horses to this spot. She needed to get back to the main castle. She needed to some air. She needed to catch her breath.

(Callum, Jaimie)

Callum could sense the sudden change in mood.? He started to call after her, but thought better of it.? "Jaimie," he whispered, summoning the young ghost.? In an instant, the boy was there.? "Fetch the other horse and see if Mistress Scheherezade wishes to walk back to the castle or ride.? That's a good lad."? He then mounted his own horse but took a different route, feeling that it might be best to give the young woman her space.??

It only took a minute or two for Jaimie to find the horse and catch up with Scheherezade.??

"Mistress Scheherezade?" the young Scot said deferentially, ducking his head dutifully as he spoke, "Wull ye be wanting tae hurl back?? Tis a bawherr o' a wey tae th' castle.? Bit if yi'll waant tae donder, ah will juist bring yer horse alongside ye."?

?Etienne -

Etienne wasn¡¯t really paying that much attention to Sicilien and his games right now. She wanted to live. And unfortunately despite what she could do there was nothing that she could no. So that meant she had to think.
?
As she stood staring at the edge of the horizon she said. ¡°Moving him won¡¯t help us. By the strength of the stench, there are too many to fight. Moving him 200 yards won¡¯t stop them from finding us. We need to leave the area...completely.¡± Turning to them she said.
?
¡°And the fastest and best way to do that are the horse. The bubble he created for us is big enough for our horses. There are five of us and four house. We strapped him to the lead horse. And then we strap our horse together in a diamond. That will keep them close. Sicilien you take point Callie you take the rear and the Big guy and I will flank the sides. And we head southeast. ¡° she said pointing to a mountain range. ¡°That can provide cover.¡±
?
¡°It¡¯s obvious that Something is trying to keep us from where we are trying to go. So we have to make it think it won. Once we are in the mountains we can get a decent nights sleep, something to eat and come up with a game plan. It¡¯s either that or we split up because I¡¯m not keen on dying for a bunch of strangers.¡±

Callie astride her horse, with Flynn strapped in behind her, she circled around to the rear of the group. Once in position, she looked to the others and nodded, "Let's do this!"

Re: Troy Rising: Through the Sea of Trees, to the Well of Souls (RESEND) (attn Cal, tag open)

?(New)

She shook her head, still disbelieving what she was reading, but after reading it over a third time, there was no room for error.? "This is from Lady Miera herself.? She and her scouts have found¡well¡a city in the middle of the Forest.? She says it wasn't there before, and it is unlike anything she has ever seen.? She and her scouts are holding back beyond its perimeter for now¡a moment, please."

She rushed over to her box of maps, and pulled out one that was fairly specific¡ªfocussing on the lands surrounding the Basiya Jiyane.? It was marked with the latest advancements¡ªa grid.? It allowed for more accurate navigation and guidance.? She went over her notes on Lady Miera's movements, her latest notes, and¡

"If I'm understanding this correctly, the elves have set themselves up about here," she said, showing the map to Cal, and pointing to a spot west-southwest of the Lake¡ªalmost directly west of their current position.? "And they're saying they found a city there¡which, coincidentally enough, is roughly the direction that the strange flash of light supposedly came from."

Re: Port Vega: Meet & Greet Dinner (Posting Order: Aurora, Mara, Devi, Lightening Rod, Photon, Random NPCs)

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

(Raine)

Raine was only slightly disappointed by the request, he felt like a fool a bit.? He really had dressed for her, he was actually hoping for¡never mind.? ?By the tone of her voice, she knew he had made himself more than presentable for her, that alone made him appreciate it.? He felt her fingers moving across his chest, the soft voice from her as she made her desires known.? He wished he wasn¡¯t so smitten by her he might have resisted.? But she was more of the brains of the outfit.? He wasn¡¯t stupid or dumb his cunning existed in the use of his powers, he was creative deadly and had learned their use more supremely being with her, not sure whether it was to impress her or teach her that he could be her equal both in and out of the field.? He leaned down and kissed her cheek lightly, very much wishing it was her lips he was tasting.? He wasn¡¯t angry he knew they were leaders together and if this was to be her show of solidarity then so be it.? ?¡°As you wish my sweet.¡±? He moved away from her to go change, one day he wouldn¡¯t be kissing her cheek solely and she would also be kissing back.? His hand swatted her rear as he moved away from her, it was something that did and he had not only gotten used to doing it but he enjoyed anytime he could put his hands on her body.? He could be playful at times and not all serious but she only saw that side, outside of his family.? Tonight his desire needed a bodyguard, for her he would do that without question.

They had been together for a bit and he was hoping one day to get beyond their simple flirting.? To the point to where he would be hopefully peeling her out of that dress that made her look so divine this evening.? He found himself thinking of his family, each one of them.

Most of all the fact that he had spent the day with his beloved sister.? He knew full well why Brandon had been in love with her.? He too might have fallen under her spell, but those two were thick as thieves and he was simply her protector.? The strange thing was it didn¡¯t matter as much to him.? He wanted a sister more than a lover with her, he knew where she was most of the time and he made sure no one hurt her.? Sure, some guys got the hint the hard way and broke up with her, but he made sure none put a hand on his baby girl¡period.? He knew she was intimate with others it was her choice but he didn¡¯t do hurting her or disrespecting her at all.? She was his sister and he didn¡¯t allow that!

He quickly undressed and put on his bracers a gift from his father.? The man was a genius costume maker and the items easily went along with his powers.? He undressed hanging up the suit, maybe he would just after ask her out in order to wear it¡it wouldn¡¯t be a surprise though since she had seen him in it.

He pulled on his shirt and shorts, pants, and boots.? Even though the bracers generated the costume it needed some material to start with generally, that and if something went wrong he didn¡¯t want to be naked.? Not that they ever did with dad¡¯s things but he wasn¡¯t wanting to be identified and link things back to the family.

When the costume was activated, he was in a cowl mask only allowing his mouth to be free, his eyes were visible but they had only become white in the outfit with no pupils which meant he could be any black man beneath the outfit that still revealed his muscular form.

(Aurora)

Aurora gave Raine a giggle as he gave her rump a swat, ¡°but not in front of the dinner guests.¡± She reminded him as they went their separate ways for now.? She had picked up on the movement from Mara out of the corner of her eye.? She had gotten pretty good at knowing when her spy was around, with a smile she quietly said, ¡°glad you are here my friend.¡±

She took her place at the head of the table and waited for the others to arrive.? Liza, Jordie¡¯s lady gave Aurora a smile as she took her place at the table.? ¡°How many are you expecting?¡± She asked her boss.? ¡°Two for sure, maybe a third.? We will see.¡±

(Jordie)

¡°Name¡¯s Jordie.? I am not the butler or Jeeves, Roddy.¡± Jordie said with a smirk knowing that would get the lad¡¯s attention.? ¡°Respect is a two-way street around her, Lightening Rod, remember that.¡± He led them to the dining room and once there took his seat next to Liza.? ¡°You are there,¡± he pointed to a seat across from his, ¡°Devi. And you are there,¡± He pointed to a seat a few chairs farther down the table, ¡°Lightening Rod.? This is Liza and you all have met, Aurora.¡± He said indicating their boss sitting at the head of the table.

(Mara)

The snake woman watched as the new recruits filed into the dining room, examining them through the infrared, her tongue flicking in and out as she tasted the air.? When Aurora came in, she looked to the darkened corner where Mara was settled, watching, seeing her smile light up and then ever so slightly, nodding her head in response.? They had a sort of mental link that allowed them to sense each other's presences, but Mara didn't have the type of power where she could use it as a means of communication.? Once everyone settled in and she had a chance to measure everybody's body heat, Mara melded out of the shadows and stepped into the light, adjusting the straps of her v-necked dress, going to take her place beside Aurora, crossing her legs as she leaned back, one hand going up to move a stray clump of hair behind her ears.

"Ah, at least, we get to eat.? Is this everyone, or are we waiting for any other late arrivals?"? She looked everyone over with her normal eyesight now, taking mental notes of they sat and moved, what caught their attention.? It was not just force of habit, but also a survival technique.? One never knew when the information that she ingested was going to come in handy.

(Devi)

Devi gave Lightning Rod a smile when he introduced himself. Once he took her arm she let him guide her in. As they made their way to the dining room Devi looked around to familiarize her self to her surroundings. Her attention turned back to Jordie when he spoke and pointed to where both Lightning Rod and her self. She gave him a nod and moved to sit in the chair.

She had seen Aurora at the head of the table as she sat down. About to ask a question she stopped as she seen a snake looking woman step from the shadows and make her way to sit next to Aurora. When the snake woman spoke Devi smiled. She looked to Aurora, "Thank you for the invitation. It is very beautiful place."

(Lightning Rod)

Following Devi's example, Roddy nodded to Aurora.? "Pretty posh indeed. My compliments to the decorator." He glanced around at the other guests seated at the table.? Only two seemed out of the ordinary, outwardly at least. The first was a large man wearing some kind of costume, complete with a hood that hid most of his face and some kind of bracers on his forearms. He looked to be black, fairly powerfully built, and... possibly on familiar terms with Aurora?? Roddy wasn't terribly good at reading people, but somehow he was getting that impression.??

But it was the other latecomer that immediately drew his full attention.? Even at a distance, Roddy could see that there was something distinctly not-quite-human about her.? There was a scale-like sheen to parts of her dusky olive skin, particularly from just above her eyes to down the ridge of her rather flattened nose, beginning again down her neck to her collarbone.? Her hair, which was cut fairly short, was a blonde but with a coppery tint.? Her eyes, however, were her most striking feature.? Bright turquoise in color, with slitted irises that gave her a mesmerizing intensity he could feel without her even looking his way.? She moved with a flowing grace towards the table, filling the normally arrogant youth with an unfamiliar mix of heart-stopping fear and out-and-out lust.?

The snake-woman was the last to be seated. Next to Aurora, Roddy noted.? He suspected that the seating reflected some kind of status, frowning slightly when he saw that he was further away from their host than anyone else.? Something to be rectified in the future.? But for the moment, he could only stare helplessly.?

"Who... who is _that_?" he whispered to Devi, nodding towards the woman.??

Re: Raconteur City: The Summoning (Pyp, Kutsuki)

(Pyp)

Pyp appeared in Kutsuki's room with a blink of an eye.? No fanfare, no explosive puff, no smell of brimstone.? One moment he wasn't there, and the next moment he was, standing before his outraged summoner, the very picture of deferential innocence.??

"Me, Eraisama?" the demon inquired politely, gesturing at himself.? "I didn't 'make' you dream anything.? I merely gave you an opportunity. To explore your desires in the safety of a dream."? His eyes gleamed impishly, clearly enjoying himself.? "Contrary to what most people think, we can't make mortals desire anything.? We can _tempt_ mortals. Present them with all manner of things that they might want, envy or lust after.? But we cannot create that need or desire in them.? That has to be there to begin with."

The fresh-faced devil-boy flopped backwards, a plush bean-bag chair appearing beneath him just before he would've hit the floor.? Reaching into mid-air, he summoned a cup and saucer of bone china, emitting the smell of rich dark chocolate.? He took a sip, then nodded approvingly before looking back to Kutsuki.? "Whatever you may have seen or experienced in your dream, Eraisama," Pyp said sweetly, "I had nothing to do with it.? That came from _you_."

"Now before you blow a gasket and do something foolish," he went on, stirring his hot chocolate with a fingernail, "you might want to consider that all you've used me for so far is to fetch you a snack drink, keep your parents off your back, and find a few spying devices.? Personally, I think this is a serious underutilization of my potential."? He grinned impishly, this time letting his fangs show a bit.? "I can do a _lot_ more, if you'll but command me."

[Kutsuki]

"Pyp, I haven't dreamt of doing shit like this, ever, until I've gotten the displeasure of summoning your sorry ass," Kutsuki bit back, chewing on his lower lip.? He slid to the edge of the bed, legs flopping down as he wrapped the blankets around himself, glaring at the demon.? It didn't help that his skin was still tingling from the dream, that that sensitivity was still there, and that his normally alabaster white cheeks were clearly tinged in hot pink.? "And why would you ever care what my desires are anyway?? The only thing you're here for is to help me achieve my ultimate goal.? I don't see what you stand to gain from doing that.? Regardless, keep your butt planted here and don't let your vision extend beyond the barrier of this room.? That includes not being able to use my eyes to see because you can't use yours, understand?? And stay the fuck out of my head.? I'm going to take a shower and when I come back, we can talk about the next steps."

With that, Kutsuki stalked out of the room, keeping the comforter around if for the only reason of hiding his shame.? Slamming the door closed, he quickly shuffled over to the bathroom and dropping all pretenses, undressed and stepped into the hot shower.? He let the hot water sear his skin, closing his eyes as it washed over him, brushing his hair back.? Pyp was an annoyance, a thorn in his side.? Temptation or not, he has never thought about even himself in that way.? Never an inkling of desire.? He was perfectly fine having people stay away from him, so if that has somehow changed with the demon's presence, then he wanted none of it.? There way no way his subconscious was going to get the better of him.? But as much as he wanted to stop feeling like this, his heart rate only increased more.? So there was only one way to deal with this, loathe as he was to even think about it.

Kutsuki touched himself, hands trembling, his palm recalling the same way that he touched the clone.? His breaths came out ragged, cheeks flushing even further, heart beating against his rib cage like a gong.? That feeling kept building and building until at last he got release, moaning out, placing both hands against the cold tile, knees feeling quite weak from the event.? Kutsuki felt even more disgusted with himself, disgusted that this is what Pyp caused him to experience.? That face was going to haunt him forever.? Finally finished showering, he changed into a pair of boxer briefs and pulled on some dress pants, coming out of the shower all pink from the heat, drying his hair off as he walked back into the room.

"Okay," he sighed, letting out some steam.? "Isolde going this far is basically declaring war against me.? I've tolerated her presence so far, but this was the last straw.? So, I need to see how she will react to your presence.? Her occultist interests means she is sensitive to the supernatural, so you can't just remain hidden around me.? So that means going out and having you appear by my side.? She really wants me, so I need to do something that's completely characteristic of me, yet would turn her off...though I've tried.? Maybe you'll have some ideas when you see her."

Re: The Door Between Two Worlds [Roue and Rabbit] (closed)

(Rabbit)

"A photo?" Rabbit hesitated, wondering how to explain photography to someone apparently from a place where elves and magic existed but most technology did not.? "You could say it's a, uhm, d-different kind of magic.? It's like an instant painting.? Except s-smaller.? It captures whatever someone or somethin' l-looked like at that moment in time. I can sh-show you some, later if'n you like."??

The little vampire gasped at the elf's nuzzling and nibbling of his neck, and the feeling of his lover's hard bulge rubbing against his thigh stimulated his own desire even further.

"I... I wanna make you, uhm, you know, f-feel good," Rabbit said softly, pressing his slender body up against Roue's.? "I wanna _hear_ you feelin' good.? And know that I'm the one makin' you feel that way.? I wanna be looking in your eyes while you f-fuck me, feel you hot and urgent inside me, takin' me and m-makin' me yours." He looked down, suddenly embarrassed.? "Am I b-bein' too much of a, uhm, you know, a bottom-boy?"??

[Roue]

"Hmm, an instant painting?? In my world, capturing someone's visage was akin to stealing their soul.? Would that not do the same?" Roue wondered, fingers trailing down Rabbit's body as he slipped his hand beneath the vampire's shirt, fingernails raking across his skin.? The mewlings that escaped his lover's throat were like music to his ears, especially when he was touching him like this, heat intermingling with the cold.? "I'm definitely curious, so that's a promise, okay?? Don't forget."

"No, I think you're doing just fine, but I think you should me just how much you want to be mine," Roue whispered, turning Rabbit's head with the arm that wasn't busy running under his clothes.? Pulling himself away, the wizard looked into his paramour's eyes.? This was very unlike him.? Did he perhaps inadvertently consume some kind of an alcoholic drink or was he simply drunk on the atmosphere between them?? Roue was definitely jealous, that was for sure, but why?? And why was it this youthful boy before him that captured his attention so?

"I want you to take control this time.? Make me feel good, Rabbit," he murmured, their lips brushing against each others as the wizard lapped at the other's mouth and when Rabbit opened up, Roue captured the vampire's mouth, pushing his tongue inside as he devoured him.

Re: Raconteur City: Investigating Leads (Scarlett, open)

Luke Reardon
Luke studied the old camera¡¯s screen.? He zoomed the lens and more blurry images appeared in the window.?

¡°Hard to tell. At least two that I know of up there. It¡¯s dark in there or I wouldn¡¯t see anything but a white glare.¡± He hunted the other windows but they were either shaded or there was no activity to see.

¡°That¡¯s all I got.¡± He noticed something on the ground and it gave him some assurance.? A diving board.? That meant there was a swimming pool filled with lovely water. He grinned in the darkness.

Scarlett MacAleister

Scarlett gave Luke a nod. "Then see what you can see with your camera and get pictures of anything interesting," she told him. "I'm going to take a little stroll."
The redhead turned toward the fence, crouched and leaped more than 10 feet into the air, vaulting over the fence and landing on the other side with barely a sound.
She looked back at Luke and gave him a wink before she turned and disappeared almost magically into the darkness. The vampire slipped silently through the frees, moving with unnatural speed and nimbleness through the trees and brush surrounding the property. Reaching the edge of the trees, she looked across the open yard and spotted several cameras monitoring the property.
Like a black, shadowy blur, Scarlett darted across the yard, arriving at the outside wall of the house, where she pressed her back flat against the brick and then she moved along quietly until she reached a window. With her enhanced hearing, she focused to see if she could hear anything going on inside the house.?

Re: What Lies in the Heart. Mikayla/The Dragon

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

(The Dragon)

"Mikayla?" the young man asked, looking confused, at least at first. But then a look of recognition started to cross his face.? "I... I know that name," he said, absently brushing his brown locks to the side.? "The girl.? The girl from the village.? The new one.? That's what she called herself.? Mikayla.? You... you're her?"?

Taking a step closer, he reached up to touch her shoulder, to get her to turn to face him once again.? But as he did so, his hand began to change before his eyes, the skin growing rough and scaly, the fingers becoming talons.? He felt his whole body begin to change, growing larger, deforming into something distinctly not human.

"No!" he cried out, his voice a rapidly deepening cry of fear and anguish.? "I was human again!? Human!? Nooooo..."? He faded. He could feel himself fading as the reversion to dragon completed.? He looked to the girl in desperation, and then...

He was back in his chamber, stretched out on his marble dais, waking as if from a dream, once again the monster he'd become.? He roared in frustration, shaking the keep's massive stone walls as he stormed about the room on all fours, smashing any furniture that he came across. "Why?? I was human!? Why? Why? Why?"

?- Mikayla -

When he spoke as though he knew her, she suddenly became thoughtful. ¡°They told you about me? How odd. Angus didn¡¯t mention you. Did you only just arrive?¡± She asked. Then suddenly he gripped her shoulder so painfully. ¡°Sir...you are hurting me.¡±

It was the Painful wail of his no that made her turn to him.?Mikayla gasped. ¡°You are...¡± she watched confused as he faded. His body twisting shifting.?

She woke up sitting straight up in her bed. Blinking back her confusion. Why would she dream that??

The roar shocked her?before Mikayla could stop herself, she was up and running toward his chamber, rushing inside ¡°are you okay?¡±
