Nine times was she answered, and she laughed and laughed. An unseen tear formed in the corner of the Mayor's eye.

I don't know this area and Callie seems quite adamant on _not_ going to Cullenville.? Man, I wonder what ya'll did to piss off the devil."? He kept surveying the town, looking over to his right as Flynn and Callie set off to pick up their luggage from the inn.? Turning his gaze towards the sky, he tried to get a feel for whether or not the manikin was still watching them even now.? Does it ever tire and? what was its source of power?? Could it pull from it endlessly?? There were still remnants of the dark magic that was cast last night, but it was all over the place, as if to throw him off the scent.
?
"While we're waiting...Chase...you seem to be in the know as much, if not more, as the other two," Sicilien stated, turning to face the man with a beastly secret, motioning with his thumb towards Callie and Flynn's receding backs.? "I know what I'm here for, but I'm not privy as to why all of you want to get to Miller's Crossing and why that offense against nature is so hellbent on keeping you out of it.? But what about Etienne?? How did she fit into all of this?
?
"Then there's this damsel in distress, which I highly doubt is an innocent bystander in all of this.? Just who the hell...are...you...no...no..." the bounty hunter turned to face the woman who was determined not just to get the hell out of dodge, but to get the hell away from all of them.? However, when he was finally able to get a clear look at her face, his heart dropped.? The realization of it all hit him like a speeding train, dragging him along the tracks and then discarding him like a ragdoll.? He stood frozen in place, in disbelief, as his one unpatched eye furiously scanned her entire body.? Her hair, her face, her eyes, her lips, her neck, shoulders, arms, and the rest of her body.? How could he not have this seen this...seen her before?? He felt his body going rigid, all muscles painfully clenching head to toe.? He felt like his throat was being constricted, opening his mouth but nothing coming out, or going in.? For what seemed like an eternity, Sicillien stood frozen in time, not moving, not breathing, until a spasm wracked his body and the involuntary flinch broke him out of his stupor.? Shaking his head to try and clear the pain, he looked back up and before he knew what he was doing, his feet took him forward towards Etienne who was now backing away from him.

"You...Etienne...no..." he breathed, his voice sounding quite raspy as if he spoke for the first time in his life.? He firmly grasped her by her shoulders, fingers squeezing and feeling as if he never touched her before.? Moving his hands up, he gently cupped her face as his thumbs brushed across her cheeks, moving her hair out of the way so he could get a clear picture of her visage.? This could not be...she could not be...how many years has it been?? He has lost count.? He was sure she was...so sure...that he even went mad, and then he cut that piece off himself and locked it in the deepest, darkest recesses of his heart and mind.? But yet here she was, whole and alive.? "Etienne...no...R-rosalie...you are alive....after all this time.? You are alive, Rosalie...? This cannot be...have I gone insane?"
?
He questioned his whole entire being, his whole entire life at this point.? Nothing seemed to be as real as this moment when he stood in front of her, but even now he could not be sure of what he was seeing and what he was feeling.? There was only one way to tell, so he pulled her in and kissed her.? He kissed like he's never kissed before.

Etienne

Etienne tried not to gasp at the litters of dead bodies strung along the dirt. Dozens of men woman and children for as far as the eye could see all...gone. What a senseless lost of life. What was this thing they were dealing with that could simply cut off the life of another without so much as second thought? Etienne did not follow the man or the woman as they made their way back to the hotel. She had no intention of following them. She was almost certain only more death would come if she stayed with them. Therefore she had to get away from them quickly.

She turned away to move in the other direction as Sicilien spoke to Chase. Maybe since the two men were so engrossed in conversation, she could slip away without them noticing. And then he turned to her. And stupidly she turned to him. And damn her. Why did she do that? She blushed...he called her that name..."I don't know what you are talking about," She started to say. "I am afraid you have me mistaken with..."

And then he kissed her. And the minute his lips settled upon hers, she melted into his arms. Her hand rose to his cheek and she kissed him back with the same passion and longing and desire he kissed her with. The kiss was so intense it left her panting...wanting...needing...

No! No, she could not do this. She could not risk...With a hard shove, Etienne pushed him off her and then slapped him hard. "How dare you sir. How dare you!" she said and then she took off running in the other direction away from the other four.?

"I've got everything I need, so whenever ya'll are ready," Sicillien answered both Chase and Etienne.? His coat concealed enough ammo to put down a small village, though a town was certainly stretching it.? "So guess we'll head off soon as they're back, but where to??
It seems like we're stuck together for better or for worse, so I'd like to not tread through dark waters with both eyes blind."? Though not apt to trust someone that he's just met without measuring their grit, these people seemed to share a common goal and if the way they all banded together to get out of that amalgam, well, he knew they'd watch his six o'clock and that was good enough for him.?
?

(Charity, Millers Crossing)

In the center of Millers Crossing, in the town square, the 'Mayor' confronted the nude form of his wife, who had finally finished her latest dance. "Why are you doing this, wife?" Charity's husband asked, "why could we not rest in the Spirit World? Why would you bring me, all of us, back to this World, this place?"
?
"Because," Charity replied coldly, "you are MY people, MY husband, and this is now MY town." She gazed out over the foothills towards Bendo. "Soon I will have other towns, and other people. Even now, husband, the dead yearn to dance for me!" Her head tilted back and she howled. In the distance her howl was answered, and then again from a different direction, and then again. Nine times was she answered, and she laughed and laughed. An unseen tear formed in the corner of the Mayor's eye.
?
In Bendo the first of the scavengers crested the surrounding hills, wolves, and then coyotes. Vultures began to circle overhead, waiting for their turn. Several bear lumbered towards the town, and hundres of thousands of insects crawled out of every conceivable crevice. Every single being was focused on one thing, all of the free, ripening flesh offered on the streets of Bendo.

Seven Fingers- Calon y M?r (Sara, Henri, Kir, John)

(Kir)
?
? ?Kir listened to Sara and John. She herself had not ties to Sara yet she felt for her. She could see that the woman had decided to except John's apology. When he finally told Sara the reason that they were here, Kir glanced towards the door then back to Sara and Bonnie. "I can see the flow of magic here though it is not the same as it is in the other world. I can not track it like I would have been able to before. It is very confusing for me. I am somewhat afraid that if I tried to track it. I would get us lost. We need your help."?
?
?
(Sara Merrick)
?
While Sara listened to John's explanation, she just didn't know if it made as much sense to her as he wanted it too. It was all too neat and sounded just to tidy. The one thing she knew for sure was he was looking for the captain, and she just wasn't sure she was ready to give the captain up just yet.? She didn't think he was a malevolent as John was making him seem and she was sure if she could talk to him she could help him. It was then that Sara decided she needed to find the Captain herself. She looked to Bonnie then.?
?
"Bonnie since it seems like we have much to discuss. Can you please get us a bit of food."
?
?
<John Merriweather>
?
"What a novel thought!" John Merriweather exclaimed. "Who would have guessed that food could be enjoyed in the spirit realm!"
?
Bonnie cackled loudly as she stood. "Well, tis 'ere t' be eaten," she chuckled, "as 't wether it be enjoyed, well, tis up t' ol' cookie, innit? Three bowl o' chowder then." She wobbled off towards the dim recesses of the ale house, apparently this hadn't been her first cup of grog today.
?
"The being we are seeking," John began as he leaned in, "has more than likely been entrapped by some sort of enchantment. It may not even be aware of it's entrapment, depending on how long it's been in it's present state. I suspect that in some instance it may be enslaved, much like the proverbial djinni in it's bottle," he glanced at Sara, "or the zombie separated from it's soul. Sorry, Sara dear, I know now that causes you pain."

Chase pulled his shirt back on and stepped into his favorite boots once more.? Apparently the Sicilien knew full well that something was different about him without him showing all of his cards.? Port Vega: Brother and Sister

Brandon

"I just wanted to see you baby girl and apologize for being an ass earlier and to tell you don't stress being the leader or that you did anything wrong. I screwed up so that one is on me. I just wanted you to know I love you and I appreciate you being such a wonderful sister. That is all!" He looked at her not upset at all. "So what happened to you last night?" He asked.

Ireland

She appreciated his apology, but that didn¡¯t mean she believed he was really sorry. She loved her brothers but they were both huge jerk ass babies when they didn¡¯t get their way.

¡°Thanks, I guess but the real question is what happened to you last night.¡± She said still walking to her room. ¡°Seems like you went out of your way to turn on everyone who loves you. I guess now that you have your new lady love the rest of us are not just expendable but scapegoats¡±

She said still walking to her room. ¡°That¡¯s good to know. Now I know how to proceed going forward.¡±

Re: Whispers in the Dark - Scheherazade, Callum

(Callum)
?
"Ah'll have a word with the lad," Callum said, looking up again.? "Ah'm sure he was not meaning to be disrespectful.? It's just... Jaimie has a strong attachment to the castle. And to the old ways it represents.? He tends to be very protective of both."? His mouth quirked a little as he added "And of you as well, though it may not have seemed like it. Give him a chance to serve and ah believe he will not disappoint you."
?
His eyes grew wide when Scheherezade's fingers touched his cheek.? And he _felt_ it!? A surge of unexpected possibilities filled his heart at this apparent confirmation of his ability to touch her without passing through her.? He had never been able to do that with anyone else before.? Truly this young American woman was, somehow, the re-embodiment of his Arowyn.? It was the only explanation.
?
"Shall... shall we continue our walk?" the laird managed finally, offering his arm in a courtly manner.? "There is much still to be seen, and it would be mah honor to show you."

?- Scheherezade-

Sam also felt the connection. Like a part of her was home. It was strange because she wasn't a very sentimental person. Losing both her parents did that...knocked all the sentimentality out of her. But there was something about this man that felt familiar.

"No," Scheherezade said of him offering to talk to Jaimie. "Thank you buy no. I order for this to work, Jaimie and I will have to come to find common ground on our own. That will take us talking this through. After our walk, I will go look for him and he and I will work this out. But thank you for offering," she said with a smile. And with a nodded, Sam took his arm. "I am excited. There is so much of the grounds I can see from my window. I wish to know about everything. Oh, and do you think we can add the turret to our tour?"?

Re: What Lies in the Heart. Mikayla/The Dragon

(Angus)
?
"I trust the Master, mistress," Angus said simply.? "I do not think he would have asked this of you if he did not truly believe you have the ability."? Watching her run her fingers cover the book, he looked thoughtful. "I know almost nothing about the ways of magic, but the Master did try to explain some things about it to me. He said that it can be like a hot coal buried beneath the ash in a hearth seemingly cold.? But all it takes is for the right breath of wind to come along, clear away the ash, and fan it to life. He must believe that that spark exists within you, mistress.? And there is, of course, the evidence in the unfortunate mishap that transpired earlier."
?
"Is it wise, mistress?"? The servant scratched at his beard for a moment.? "I think the Master knows the risks. Has good reason to, actually.? But it seems to me that he trusts you, at least enough to risk it again."? He looked directly into Mikayla's eyes.? "I know not if it's wise, but I do know that it's necessary.? Otherwise the Master must stay a dragon, and the other---" he stopped suddenly, looking as if he had been about to say something but realized he shouldn't "...and he doesn't want that. Not at all, mistress."
?
?- Mikayla -

Mikayla sighed and began to pace again. "That is what I mean, Angus. Do you have any idea how much tremendous pressure that is to put upon me? Me. Someone who has never done magic before ever in my life and now I am suddenly not only master it, but master it enough to be the savior to your master needs to save both you and he." She turned then, covering her face. "it just feels too much," She whispered.

"But I am supposed to trust the master. I do not even know the master. All I know is that when I am with him he soothes and calms me. And I do not know why. And now that he is not here my mind and world is in turmoil." She started pacing again. "What if I do something wrong? What if I mess up like before? What if I hurt him again? It is just too much," she said turning from him so that he did not see the tears that formed in her eyes.?A shuttered sigh left her then and she put her hands together clasped under her chin.?

With her back to him, she took a deep breath, wipe the tear from her eyes,?
before turning back to him. Moving she came to stand before the book. Nodding Mikayla squared her shoulders and opened it to the first page.?

"I am afraid you have me mistaken with..."

And then he kissed her. And the minute his lips settled upon hers, she melted into his arms. Her hand rose to his cheek and she kissed him back with the same passion and longing and desire he kissed her with. The kiss was so intense it left her panting...wanting...needing...

No! No, she could not do this. She could not risk...With a hard shove, Etienne pushed him off her and then slapped him hard. "How dare you sir. How dare you!" she said and then she took off running in the other direction away from the other four.?

Re: REPSOT: A Pirates Life (Khadashee and Draven)

(Draven/NPCs)
Draven gave Khadashee a smile before eating.? He was glad for the food even though he hadn't thought he was hungry earlier.
"About two days time last I spoke with the quarter master.? Depends on the winds of course.? Could be sooner or longer.? For now we are right on course."? He began to eat then and watched the others.? There was some tension from the one gent towards the other Captain, but they all seemed to want to get along for the lady's sake.? This was going to be an interesting voyage for sure.
?
Khadashee

"That is good to know. It has been years since I been home. I long to see my people. That it appears that the sea does not agree with me" she said with a smile. "So please forgive me if I long to be on firm land soon."

"I believe we are coming in on the eastern coast? Is that correct Captain?" Sa'id said to the man. "Thank you again from along us to make this voyage on your fine vessel. After you drop us off will you be returning home or on another run?"

Blood Bonds: Family Ties

(Serena/Draven)
Serena gave Anais a smile and held her arms out, "Yes, my dear, it is."? Her embrace was warm and inviting, not at all what one would expect from someone so ancient.? After the embrace she turned to walk beside Anais and placed a gentle hand on the lady's back, "tell me Anais, is there anything you wish while you and Draven visit?"
?
Draven stepped behind the ladies and walked silently letting them chat with each other as they walked towards a gazebo in the rear of the garden.? The smell of jasmine filled the air and the night was peaceful as the moon rose on the horizon.
?
Anais

Anais came to embrace the woman tightly. She pulled back to smile at her. Anais never would have expected such a display from an ancient. Surely she knew she was a half breed. Lady Serene had to smell it on her. She had to stop that. She was never insecure. Her brothers and father raised her to be strong and independent. So why was it that every time she found herself around full-blooded vampires she was always nervous and unsure of herself.?

Taking a deep breath, Anais centered herself. "The only thing I would like is to get to know you better and learn all there is to know about little Draven. "Was he as mischievous as I imaged he was?" She said with a smile.?

"He was more." said a male voice behind them. The man behind them smiled. He was tall, with dark hair and deep crystal blue eyes. He was formidable. Crossing the gardens to where his family stood. "brother, you accepted my invitation. It is so good to see you," Mathias said coming to embrace his brother. "And I take it this is your lady love. She is lovely, Lady Anais welcome to my home."

Re: Port Vega: Up On the Roof (Harrison, Mia, open)

(Mia)
Mia blinked at the woman for a moment as she was a little surprised with the pairing up question.? Then a relationship with Brandon and Ireland?? ¡°Ms. Harrison, I do not know anything about a relationship between you and the other two outside of boss and employees.¡±? She was telling her the truth, neither Brandon or Ireland ever mentioned anything in regards to Harrison and them outside of employment.
?
¡°To begin with, the question about myself pairing up with anyone has nothing to do with any of this.? As to if the others felt it was an interview process, I have no idea.? Nor to I know enough about any of them to speak about them in regards to Brandon or Ireland and their ability to lead, however, I will say that from watching Brandon try to lead, he was not ready to be placed in that role.? As for Ireland, I do not know her well enough or have seen her lead to make a reasonable opinion about it.¡±
?
¡°As for my ability to be objectionable¡my family.? I was raised in a loving environment unlike the others here.? My family owns the oil companies in Allen Town and I was brought up to one day take over that business even though I do not wish too.? And when it comes to the rest of the team.? I do not know them at all away from the time we spent together yesterday.? As I said before, they all need work and training, especially if they are ever going to create this superhero team.? They all need to learn how to be socially compatible with others and stop being horny teenagers.¡±? With that she let out a sigh and simply waited.
?
Harrison

"I see. I thought the team was aware that Mr. Chord and I have raised Brandon and Ireland since they were children. It is why Brandon considers Ireland his sister."

Harrison kept the smirk to herself at the young woman's sigh. "Again thank you Mia for being so open and honest. I appreciate your candor. Chord and I would like for you to stay on with us and train. I think you have a lot to offer this organization and we would like to help you grow. We also would like for you to be in the running for the team lead if we decided to build a team in the future. You have shown that you have a solid head on your shoulders and that is exactly what we are looking for in a team lead. I know you expressed you're interested in being second. However, I think someone with your acumen should really consider the position of team lead. Would that being said, I would like to personally work with you to hone your skills for such a position. Is that something you would be interested in Mia?"

Re: Port Vega: What Happens Next

(Kat)

? ?Kat listened as Chord explained his thoughts on what she said and on the past two days. She grinned at he said that he holds no prerequisites for caveats on Brandons love life and that he gave his blessing. "I appreciate that you let Brandon chose who he wants in his life as a love interest. It also warms my heart that you have given your blessing. It really does mean a lot to me." He could hear the sincerity in her voice. "I would like to talk with Harrison about Brandon ad how I feel. I want her to know that I am not just a or night stand."
? ?She leaned forward a little. "I want to continue. It has been a long time since I felt like I could accomplish more in my life. More than what I am doing now." She let out a small sigh as she looked down in her lap briefly. She looked back up at Chord. "I know that the program is done. But is there a way for me to train? I have the means to create something similar to your training room but no where near as sophisticated. If I could stay, possibly use the training rooms? I want to get better. I want to help others. (pause) I am just unsure on how to go about it."

Chord

Chord rose a brow at Kat's request. "I am glad that you want to make something more with Brandon. I hope very much that you can make him happy. And you are welcome to stay here for as long as you would like. The room you have is yours. I meant that. However as for training." he paused then stood crossing to the window.

"I am glad that this experience has given you a purpose. That is what I was hoping for from all you. That this team would help you to become all that you can be and never dreamed you could be. But Kat I am a very hard man. And Harrison is even harder. What you went through yesterday is only the tip of the iceberg of what training would be like with us. It requires focus and discipline and professionalism. It requires loyalty to the training and a complete trust in the process. Are you sure that is what you want? Because if I may be honest, I did not see any of that from anyone over these past few days.?

<John Merriweather>

??? ¡°Miss Merrick,¡± John began, ¡°we have covered each other¡¯s backs in heavy fighting, both on this plane and in the aether. Have we not, together, weathered the worst of storms and trials? (Kir)

(Sara Merrick)

While Sara listened to John's explanation, she just didn't know if it made as much sense to her as he wanted it too. It was all too neat and sounded just to tidy. The one thing she knew for sure was he was looking for the captain, and she just wasn't sure she was ready to give the captain up just yet.? She didn't think he was a malevolent as John was making him seem and she was sure if she could talk to him she could help him. It was then that Sara decided she needed to find the Captain herself. She looked to Bonnie then.?

"Bonnie since it seems like we have much to discuss. Can you please get us a bit of food."

Re: Port Vega: LIght and Wings (Raine and Kites)

[Raine]

?¡°Don¡¯t be shy.? I like learning.? I wish to know more about you and your friends?? I take it this is where you come to think?¡±? Being polite as he knew how to play very well, his brother Brandon was master kiss ass extraordinaire.? He learned a lot from pipsqueak.?

¡°So really tell me more about you.? How are you liking it here so far?¡±? He asked.? ¡°Any other abilities, besides the obvious flight.? Can you carry anyone with you?? Those are true magnificent wings.¡±? He said looking Kites over part of him wanted to reach out and touch them but that would be rude without asking.

¡°Ahh so you sucked at your first day out.? I would say just apologize tell the boss man, admit what you did wrong and make amends.? He likes when you take personal accountability for your actions.? That is his thing, not really into the touchy feelies.¡±? Raine was saying from experience.

¡°Ahh interpersonals.? Hmm, yeah those can present a problem.? You have to make sure to keep work and private life separate mixing is a big no-no around here.¡±? He listened with a questioning expression.? ¡°Don¡¯t know if you will ever find out about the rest of your abilities, what do you mean?¡±? He stared at him feigning confusion.?

¡°Well does this mean you are giving up?? You can¡¯t give up, I mean you are here to train right, go to the powers that be tell them that you want to train, that you want to be better and you are willing to do anything to be all you can be.? But you have say it and mean it!? If you ever need someone to talk to just give me a call up here and I will come up and visit with you or we can always meet somewhere and just chat.? Just don¡¯t tell anyone I don¡¯t wanna get you into trouble or anything like that.¡±? Raine said.

[Kites]

When Raine asked him about his thinking place, he had to shake his head.

"Well, no...I don't know.? I just didn't want to go too far.? Not really familiar with this city to go anywhere, really," Kites answered.? "The only other place I know of is the orphanage where I was raised.? Once I was old enough, I left to try and do something with myself.? Flew to the city and that's where I met Chord.? Said he was gathering a team of super heroes and offered me a place, so I decided to join."? He turned towards the mountains, looking to the pine trees at the top.? Just over the edge and down the valley was where the church orphanage was nestled.? To tell the truth, he was a bit nostalgic about that place, now especially.

"Um...I haven't been here for very long, a week at the most, I think...so not really enough to find out what else I can do," he replied, pivoting back to face Raine.? He thought about what the man said, about going back and apologizing.? Being responsible for oneself and one's own actions.? Why did he come here?? What did Chord take him under his wings for?? He left because he wanted to strike out on his own and find his parents, to find his own place in the world.? The city was the next closest thing to start his search and that's where he met the man of the hour.? Chord warned him about the city folk not being too accepting of those different than them, offered him a shelter and he did what with it?? Let his libido get the better of him and cavort around, flirting his way up and down the gauntlet and made a mockery of the very reason why he was there.? His brows furrowed, arms crossed as he closed his eyes.? If he wanted to show that he was worth more than this, then Raine was right.? What kind of a person would he be if he just turned tail and flew back to the nest from which he leapt?

"You're right, Raine.? I made a mistake.? Though I do not want to give up what I gained in here," Kites said, pointing to his chest, then to his head.? "I also don't want to lose what I could be up there.? Perhaps there is a way I could do both?? I just have never felt like this before.? My mind and my heart are at odds with each other."? Strangely, it felt somewhat therapeutic to talk to Raine.? The man was friendly, unassuming, and didn't seem to judge him.? More so than anything, he had some words of encouragement which is just what he needed to hear but he wasn't quite there yet.? He felt like he needed more.? He was hungry for some reassurance.

"You just mentioned giving you a call if I need to talk, but I don't really have a way to contact you," he said sheepishly, bowing down his head a bit.? "I um...not yet...I don't have a phone yet.? Where I come from the only phone was connected by a cord to the wall.? Is this something that I can get here, or perhaps purchase?? Oh, but I don't really have any money...? Maybe you and I can pick out a time and day to just meet up here?? Would that work?"? He was hopeful that Raine would agree to that.

Re: The Door Between Two Worlds [Roue and Rabbit] (closed)

(Rabbit)

"There m-might be others from this Midgard place you're from," Rabbit said, biting his lip. "But I wouldn' know for sure.? I n-never heard the, uhm, name before you told me about it. I could ask some of the o-others about it though, if'n you want me to."

The little vampire listened to Roue try to explain some of the basics about magic, but only looked kind of blank, clearly not understanding it.? He did flinch backwards though when the elf suddenly set a cloth napkin on fire, fire not being one of his (or any vampire's) favorite things. The other tricks Roue did were not as frightening, fortunately, and Rabbit watched with open curiosity, careful though to not sit too close. ?

"Wow," Rabbit murmured when the elf ended his little demonstration. Looking up at Roue once again, he was quiet for a moment before saying "Your eyes get really, uhm, pretty when you do that.? Is that like, you know, p-part of the magic?"

"How to I get b-blood?" the little vampire said, fidgeting uneasily on his stool.? "It, uhm, you know, depends.? On, like, where I am, and who I'm with.? It's b-better when it's with someone I know, and who kn-knows me and what I am.? But I cain' always c-count on that.? So sometimes I have to go, you know, out..." he nodded at what appeared to be a door on the other side of their corner of the club "...and f-find someone.? I... I kinda, uhm, you know, s-seduce them.? It makes it easier for me to, you know, feed if they're distracted by the s-sex 'n stuff goin' on.? And it makes the blood, you know..."? he looked like he'd be blushing except for the lack of any color rushing to his face "...t-taste better." ?

"I didn' kiss you 'cause.. 'cause you had me, you know, all w-worked up 'n aroused," he murmured, shrugging awkwardly.? "What that happens, my... my fangs kinda, you know, come out.? I was afraid of how you'd react if'n you say my fangs and you didn', you know, kn-know what I was."

[Roue]

Rabbit complimenting Roue didn't help bring the wizard's blush any more down, instead increasing it even more.? Once he stopped his magic display, the glow of his eyes faded and they returned to their typical azure blue, though much more toned down since their environment was quite dim.

"Th-thanks...the eye glowing part is part of the magic, yes, but it's only because I'm an elf," he explained, "But it's less magick-y than it just adds to the mysticism of my race, that's all..."? Sure being an elf gave him a one up on most magic users, there are plenty of human mages that he's met that could give him a run for his money, though it was something he's strived for most of his life.? He did notice that Rabbit's eyes glazed over at his explanation however, feeling like perhaps he was too high level on his description prior to his little show-and-tell.? However, he brushed those away, instead listening to Rabbit describe his own nature.

"Hmm, I would have to read up more on vampires then, as I'm not familiar with that type of race.? Were you born like this?" he earnestly asked, curious.? He tried to imagine what it would be like to be a vampire, having to rely on someone else's life force.? As chagrined as he was to admit, he's tasted blood before, his own, though it was unwillingly.? It tasted thick and salty, and gross, so how did someone like Rabbit thoroughly enjoyed it? ? "How does it taste.. to you, exactly?? Do...do you always have to seduce someone to feed on them?? Is that a requirement of being a vampire...?? Do they know you are seducing them?? Is that why I got so drunk?? I try to stay as far away from alcohol as possible..it makes me do things, very improper things."? There was that noble thing, coming out again.? Roue was still trying to piece last night together, but being drunk told him everything he needed to know without having to recall any of it, whether he could do it or not.? Though the more he rambled on, the more he realized he was getting bitter about it.? He didn't want to appear like he was promiscuous and that this was the typical him, nor did he want to allude to Rabbit possibly having taken advantage of him, but the bitter poison was still on his tongue.? His parents made sure of it.

"Um...forget I said anything.? I hope I didn't make you feel bad.? It's not like I didn't enjoy it..." he mumbled the last part, awkwardly rubbing his arms.? I just wish you kissed me anyway...? Wanting to switch topics, however, he decided to focus on something else.? "Please do ask if anyone from Midgard came through here...? I would be curious to know if there is more than one who came from my world, or if I am truly the first and only to discover this..."

Re: Port Vega: Gen at the Lighthouse

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

(Gen)

When Gen awoke, it was dark.? It took her a moment to orient herself, but the smell of the sea and the sounds of water and ships passing in the distance told her she was back in the lighthouse.? She sat up in the bed, hugging her knees.? It felt strange to be back in this place, as if she was waking up from a vivid but quite confusing dream.

The rumbling of her stomach reminded her that it had been a while since she'd last eaten. For ordinary people it might not have been long, but with her hyper-metabolism she burned up calories faster than ordinary people.? Food immediately became the first order of business.

Rising from the bed, she walked over to a cabinet the last occupants of the lighthouse had left behind them.? Tucked away under the bottom-most drawer was the money she'd stashed from her last snatch-and-grab from one of the Russian mob's bagmen.? She peeled off a handful of bills from a bundle and then stashed it away again.? More than enough, she thought as she slipped the bills into her pocket.? She looked down at her clothes, remembering that she was back in her old ones once again. Again, the strange feeling nipped at her, wondering how the previous couple of days seemed so different and so far away now.

The androgyne ascended to the light room and from there went out through the window onto the balcony ring.? The lights on the shore glittered enticingly and her stomach again rumbled a reminder of its needs.? Gen willed her wings to extend, perched on the balcony rail and then launched herself into the night sky.

It felt good to be flying once again, out in the open air of the harbor.? Her wings worked with a frenzied joy and she quickly darted towards the shore, the lights growing brighter and more numerous as she drew near.? A sudden craving for fried seafood hit her and she veered sharply rightward and down, remembering a shoreside diner that stayed open all night, run by a young chatty Greek man named Ari who served generous platters filled with perfectly delightful assortments of seafood.? Landing in a nearby alley, Gen shifted back into normal girl-mode, her wings quickly retracting into her body.? She then strolled over to where the light from Ari's Dockside spilled out onto the boardwalk.?

"Hi, Ari," she called out cheerfully as she slid onto a stool.

"Sly?" Ari said, raising a bushy eyebrow as he looked up at his customer.? His mouth quirked wryly.? "Long time no see, Sly.? Where you been, girl?"

"Oh, you know, just around," she said, shrugging casually as she looked up at the menu boards. "Trying to stay out of trouble."

"A full-time job in your case," Ari said, following her glance and looking back at her.? "The usual, I'm guessing?"

"That'd be really great," Gen said, spinning around on her stool.? "If I was any hungrier, I'd be halfway in your dumpster already with my butt hanging out over the side."

"Three king-size fisherman's platters with extra fries and hot sauce, coming up," Air said, turning around and pulling packs of shrimp, cod, scallops and clams out and setting them near the grill that was always hot and ready.? "And two 2-liter bottles of RC with plenty of ice."

She chatted amiably with the man while he worked, and soon had three steaming platters piled high with delicious-smelling fried seafood along with a huge basket of fries and two squirt bottles of hot sauce.? She mumbled a quick "Thanks" as she quickly dug in, forking her mouth full, chewing furiously and swallowing, moaning with pleasure as the food hit her stomach.? "So googf," she managed around mouthfuls as she continued to devour the first platter while already eying the second.? "You're the beft, Ari!"

??? As she listened to all that was said around her, Sara frowned. And the more that was said, the more her frown deepened. "So let me make sure I am understanding because the more you speak the more confused I get. What you are telling me is that you treated me cruelly, rudely and meanly because you thought I had been taken over by some spirit but as your friend, as Miss Kir would have me to believe you see me as. And you decided to dismiss me." She blinked.

Hector gave Keira a smile, "all is going very well with the fountain, Ms. Night.? Was wondering what colors for the lights for the gala?"? Keira thought about it for a moment and the colors of the plates' edges.? "I am thinking a gold with red."? Hector gave her a nod as he looked over his inventory list of his own.? "Yes, we have those colors.? I will ensure they are installed and ready that night."? With a smile Keira checked off the water fountain and headed back inside to see what was next.? All seem to be falling into place.

Harrison listened closely to all that Mia had to say about the team and what happened yesterday. As the young lady spoke, Harrison found herself pleased with Mia observations. Mia was proving herself incredibly reasonable, thoughtful, observant and insightful.? She was also showing just how ambitions she was by expressing her desire to stay and be trained by Chord and herself.? Mia was smart. She knew what she wanted and she was letting it be known that she was all in to get it.

Harrison nodded. ¡°Thank you so much for your insight. You used the term interview. Do you feel like you are the only one who understood that that was what these past two days were?
