Serena had felt her son enter the garden before she heard the woman's voice.? She smiled at the questions and stepped from around the fountain as they approached.? An impressive lady dressed in a dark red full length dress with raven black hair and alabaster white skin spoke, "that my dear is a very long story.? However, I will say that no.? Our family was turned many centuries before we resided here."

Draven released Anais' hand and approached the lady with a smile, "mother, I am glad to see you well."? They embraced in a warm hug and she kissed him on the cheek.? He then turned to Anais, "mother this is the Lady Anais, my betrothed.? Anais, my mother Serena."

Serena stepped forward to greet her, "I know who she is very well, welcome to our home and the family."? She stood and waited to see if Anais was open for an embrace or simply a gentle hand shake.

Anais did not expect any other voice to speak but Draven’s so she was a bit taken aback at the sound of the female voice. However upon seeing the beautiful woman with the dark black hair, she knew this was Draven’s mother. She found herself growing even more anxious under the woman’s scrutiny. She stood quietly watching the two.

She smiled. And then a feeling a longing filled her soul. What would it be like to have grown up with a mother who would hold her and look upon her the way Draven’s mother Serene looked at him right now.

When Draven introduced her, Anais curtsied. Draven’s family was legendary, even to someone who was a sheltered as she was. She knew that he hailed from a long line of first born…vampires believed to be blessed and turned by the Gods.
