¿ªÔÆÌåÓý(Juliet)Juliet looked at Anais and listened to the girl's heartbeat for a moment, then said, "please don't try and run on your own. I can't tell you what you should or should not do, but I know a desperate look in a prey's eyes when I see it and right now, you have that look. You want to flee, but I am suggesting that you don't. We have look outs and if anyone from the manse comes to the woods, we will know. And we have many hiding places here and can easily hide you away as well. Try and get some sleep. I hope to still find you here after day break." With that Juliet got up, closed the door down some and left Anais to herself. She wouldn't stop the girl from fleeing if she really wanted to. Juliet and Trevor put their daughter to bed, then met with the rest of the pack around the central fire. She filled them in as to who the girl was, Evie, and that she was with child and that she did escape from Vincent. He wants her children. Why, Juliet did not know. After everyone was informed, everyone retired to their cottages for sleep, and the watch shift changed for the rest of the night. Anais Anais paced back and forth in the tiny little room she was left in. Her mind in turmoil. Juliet called her prey...it was such an oddly?interesting and deliberate choice of words.?Prey.? Was that what she was?? She had so much on her mind. Should she call her brothers...maybe the twins...Draven? Tears filled her eyes at the thought of Draven and her hands went to her belly. Anais went outside to stair up at the night sky and the big bright glowing moon. Just thinking about hun caused her to do something she had not done...For the first time in many months, she reached for him. Unknowingly so... Her emotions and heart moving over the intrinsic bond they had. Letting him feel her fear...worry...dread...her need...and damn ...her love. Here she was scared...alone, pregnant and her ¡°husband¡±...well he was the mighty Lord Draven and she was just a freak...a half bred...a novelty...a novelty he was better off without...and he wasn¡¯t her husband. She broke the betrothal when she ran. Yes, she ran.? But how could he think she would stay after what he did...how could any of them think she would stay after how they treated her. Humiliated her. Anais shook the thought away and wiped the tears from her eyes. Maybe Juliet was right, she thought as she walked. She should wait...but she didn¡¯t want to bring danger to these people and Vincent was a dangerous man. Internally her Wolf felt the breeze, smelled her people and long to run, to have a chance to be free once again. A
