<Sara Merrick>
??? Sara regarded Bonnie as if she had just grown to heads. Sara went quiet waiting. Sure the woman was joking with her. But the punchline never came. Sara let out a small reluctant chuckle. But still, the woman's face was steadfast and earnest. Sara frowned. "Bonne," she began. "Surely you are joking." When the woman said nothing more. "Bonnie, surely you know that can not be the case. There is just no way."
??? Sara went quiet then. Contemplating Bonnie's words. "What else about him do you find peculiar?"
<Bonnie, deceased NPC waitress>
??? The spirit wench faded slightly, her form flickering as her attention was drawn to contemplation and away from maintaining her form. Suddenly she returned to form and leaned forward conspiratorily.? ¡°¡¯E¡¯s not right in the ¡®ead,¡± she whispered. ¡°¡¯E¡¯s got smarts, see,¡± she tapped her own head, ¡°but it¡¯s not focused. ¡®Is mind flitters about like a wee bird, it does. Sure ¡®n ye seen that, aye?¡±
??? She winked then. ¡°The Cap¡¯n focused on yerself for a spell. I thought mayhaps ye¡¯d be able t¡¯ suss ¡®im out, but ¡®e¡¯s wandered off again, ¡®asn¡¯t ¡®e?¡±
<John Merriweather>
??? ¡°Mayhaps,¡± John replied, ¡°I shall avail myself of said punch that you're packing.¡± They had passed the current shoreline, and now strolled streets long dead, drowned beneath the waters of Kingston Harbor. Misty spirit forms were their only companions on the ancient street.
??? ¡°Look there,¡± John said as he pointed at the entrance to an ale house. ¡°See how well defined that place is? It¡¯s remembered strongly, as if by a powerful spirit.¡± He winked, ¡°just the sort we are stalking. ¡®One Eyed Pete¡¯s¡¯,¡± he read hanging the sign over the door, ¡°sounds like a lovely establishment. Shall we?¡± He offered his arm to Kir as he opened the door.
<Kir>
??? Kir grinned at Johns comment about not wanting to be punched by her. As they walked she could see things that looked almost permanent and other things that seemed to be faded, almost non existent. The flow of magic felt different here. She was surprised that she could feel it.
??? When John pointed out an ale house she could see the difference in the fact that out of all the other structures, this one felt more real. She took his offered arm as they moved to enter the 'One Eyed Pete's.' "So a powerful spirit can effect the substance of things here?"
<John Merriweather>
??? John stopped with his hand on the knob of the ethereal door and went into ¡®professor¡¯ mode. ¡°In the spirit realm,¡± he explained, ¡°things, bodies, ones circumstances are ¡®remembered¡¯. See, none of this is real. If a spirit is affixed in death with a great deal of emotion, then it remembers things much clearer than, say, one who has died peacefully in their sleep. That is why most of the spirits you see wandering these streets appear to have met a violent end.¡±
??? ¡°Take for example our Sara,¡± he continued. ¡°Her demise was incredibly emotional, though somewhat less than violent. Her soul was trapped outside of her body for quite a while. She was a zombie, you see, before she died in earnest. As a result, she is a powerful spirit, even more-so since she was strong willed and resolute in life.¡±
??? He chuckled then. ¡°As you might have noticed by our exchange in the boudoir earlier.¡± He finally opened the door and gave a little bow, ¡°after you, my dear.¡±
??? When they entered the pub John noticed a pair of women in archaic garb chatting at one of the tables. It took him a second to recognize Sara as one of them since she was dressed in a period attire.
??? ¡°Good lord,¡± he whispered.
