Brandon was back in his room now the flight up that he created had been short but even in all that time he thought about it. How Rain was right he was weak! Ireland wasn't really his sister, he accepted her as his sister because he couldn't have anything more.? Something Rain often made completely clear to him, he wasn't good enough for her or he couldn¡¯t be the man she needed for him to be.? Not the weak pantywaist that followed after their father with no backbone of his own.

He was simply far too wanton and lonely, far too thirsty for her.? He wanted to be with her, but he really didn't get to know her, he wanted her as a lover but didn¡¯t know how!? Otherwise he would have known she likes both men and women and to be with him would have tied her down.

Mia was just simply another example to show him that he didn't have his act together. He invited her to be with him or the group, either way it was under false pretenses.? Yes the group needed her powers but he needed something more or he wanted something more and that wasn't what Mia wanted!? She wanted what he didn¡¯t have, so it was simply yet again is hunger that over rode his sensibility.

He heard Kat at the door and for the life of him; he should have just left the door closed. In the back of his mind he was simply giving up, he just wasn't leader material.? He had gotten chewed out enough, so now what was something else, he had failed them as a leader.

Sure he had been a warrior, a protector of the city for some time. But he never work with a group, he never led a group, he was just an individual and knew what he was doing with HIS abilities.?? So he was nothing more than what Rain said just poppa¡¯s boy that was willing to do whatever was necessary to stay in father¡¯s good graces and yet he had failed at that.

Even now he could hear Rain laughing at him in the back of his mind. But as he waved his hand, the door opened he stepped out and looked at Kat he was glad she hadn¡¯t gotten too far.

¡°Are you coming in?¡± He gazed at her all he was wearing was his pants and his boots looking like he was getting ready to take a shower.? There was nothing for him to lose, as a failure.?? Maybe not being leader was the best thing for him, Ireland was better at him in everything including control, so she was easily better suited to the mantle.? He would do what he was told like usual and just live.? Seems her and Mia were getting along splendidly, thereby they could both be leaders since Mia wanted the job as second already.?? ¡®There you go!¡¯

? ?Kat had started down the hall when she heard the door open and Brandon ask if she was going to come in. Turning around she gave him a smile as she walked back and into his room. Once inside and the door shut she really looked at him. In just his pants and boots, Brandon was one of the hottest guys she had ever seen. Yet she could tell that he was brooding. Which was not a good look, even for him.?
? Still covered in dried mud, Kat took the steps to stand ext to him. She reached out to take his hand in hers. She guided him to sit on the bed. Still holding his hand she gives it a squeeze. "I can tell that you are wallowing. And don't tell me you are not. I can smell it. And don't give me that look." She grinned to take the sting out of her words. "You know that I will stand next to you, no matter what." She looked into his eyes. "Right now what I need from you, what we need from you, is to get out of your head and help us. Help me learn to use my powers. Help us learn how to compliment each other when are out there. Even though they put Ireland in charge, it will be you that will be out there with us. You have been doing this superhero stuff longer than any of us. I know that you have worked alone. So learning to work with others is not easy. Just remember, we are in the same boat. None of us have worked with others either. (pause as she shivered) This is a good thing. This means that we can create our own way to work together."?
