Scarlett
stood up and she bowed to Dario as he walked to the door. She
was surprised she'd gotten no resistance from Dario. They'd
never really gotten along, but even more so since her exile. She
remained respectful of him, regardless of her status in the
vampire nation. Scarlett knew he was prone to rash, often
violent outbursts when crossed.
No reason
to poke the bear when you were in his den.
On the
way out the door, Scarlett looked over to Kitty and smiled. She
was cute and Scarlett didn't know her, but she must have figured
prominently in Dario's court. Maybe they would have a chance to
get to know once another someday.?
After
Dario was gone, Scarlett put a hand on Luke's back, "Remind me
to give you a crash course in Vampire Etiquette 101," she
smiled. She checked the time and then added, "Do you have time
to speak once we're outside?"
Luke nodded to Kitty perhaps a reticence to the previous wink. He said nothing to the Prince but gave him one last exaggerated bow. Best not to think in their sphere or else.
To Scarlett¡¯s question he nodded, ¡°I hope not to ever, you know how that goes. What bothers you most seems to come up time and time again like a bad cold.¡±
Once outside he walked by her side, ¡°I¡¯d prefer not to speak until we clear this block. These guys got so much dough I¡¯d not be surprised if the whole area isn¡¯t wired.¡±
