Hello,
Bought this and intended to put the shell on another chassis. It looks unused. Don't know when made, but it has a Montgomery Ward price sticker on the original blue box.
It ran for four feet, made evil noises and stopped. . When I opened it up (these simple locos were easy to take apart), expecting to find the usual front truck metal wheeled, and the rear plastic, rubber tired, with pancake motor, see picture for what I found. What a surprise. I don't know that I ever knew about this conversion. It is obviously a commercial kit.
What stopped it from running was that the idler gears had cracked apart, also the axle gears are intact, but cracked
Anyway, I'd like to preserve it. Can anyone steer me to replacement idler gears and geared axle/wheel sets?
I have added and album: Life-Like F7, because I can't seem to get pictures in any other way.
Denis
