Years ago, I had looked into alot of replacement backlit LCDs and one thing I noticed about potential replacements is that the driver chip (T6963C) always seemed to be actually built-in to the display, but in the QY schematics the driver appears to be on the main PCB, which I always assumed made them incompatible replacements.
