Re: I just got the FS1r

Yeesh! I hate you guys already! (How's THAT for an introductory

post!) You just cost me $640 for a new FS1R. And that doesn't include the extra goosing and tweeking charges on top of that! (Total = $669) A few months ago, I received a catalog (probably Musicians Friend) that had a rediculously low price on the FS1R. I called but they were all out... as was everybody on the face of the planet! I gave up all hope of getting a new one. (I don't recall the price back then. Anyone? Beuller?) So today, I was looking through some groups on eGroups and found you folks. There were posts about "I just got the FS1R." I assumed that this was a used unit so I read the posts to find out where and how much. To my surprise, someone said Musicians Friend has them. Of course I HAD to check it out. Son-of-a-gun they DO have them in stock. I immediately whipped out the plastic (gave it whiplash - I whipped it good!) BTW, it is utterly rediculous that I should be looking through eGroups as I am a member of way too many lists already! It is also utterly rediculous that I should buy another synth. I'm still climbing the learning curve for the Nord Modular (with voice expansion card) and K5000S. I really shoudn't be getting another synth but I just HAD to jump on this one. DANGER! DANGER!
Don't connect the MIDI cables the wrong way. Someone had to have their DX7II fixed because they plugged two MIDI OUTs together. Hopefully not too late, Nathan ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! Back lighting a DX100
I'm wondering if there's anyway to light the LCD on a DX100. I take this
thing out live and it's a hassle not having the LCD lit, it'd even been nicer in the studio having back lighting. Could the LCD be replaced with a back lit version? Or would something as crude as shoving an LED or 2 behind the LCD work? Thanks! _ sleepville electronic music |

Connecting dx100 to my computer
Hi everyone. I'm new here. I hope this isn't a completely stupid
question. I want to use my DX100 to input music into my PC. I'm using Finale 2000 as my notation program. I'm using that standard Windows sound card that came with my computer and use MIDI to joystick cables to connect my synth. For some reason my computer does not accept input. Do I need a special driver or can I even use a DX100 as a controller? Like I said, I'm really new at this so bare with me. Thanks. |

For what it's worth, you'll need to put the DX100 on the same midichannel as

the program you are using. And make sure that the midi out from the DX is connected to the midi-in of the card and the midi-in to the midi-out. switch them around and see if that helps. :) metropolisiii@... wrote: Hi everyone. I'm new here. I hope this isn't a completely stupid |
yamaha DX 27s - q
Hi,
after checking out my new buy I am beginning to have doubts - some of the sounds add a swelling bell-like tone, going from slow to fast (NO, not the normal DX-sound character), This is not the case for all sounds, only some... any idea what that could be? Is that a DX-typical problem? I never had any probs with my DX-100... thanks for advice HC Get 250 color business cards for FREE! at Lycos Mail |
DX volume knobs?
Hi,
does anybody know where I can find volume knobs for an old DX 27...s! that I just bought on the cheap!? It's a funny instrument, the speakers are actually pretty strong and it's technically okay - only that it is missing both volume as well as data entry sliders... thanks HC Get 250 color business cards for FREE! at Lycos Mail |

Water from a DX7
I have posted 3 new songs on my site www.mp3.com/djmystykmike.
One of them has a good deal of the DX7 in it. The song "Chinese water torture" has water drops, a koto, and rich bass all done on the DX7. Check them out and give me your opinions. I am especially proud of the song "Breakfast by the Monastery". It too has bass by the trusty DX7. DJ Mystyk Mike Miccoli www.mp3.com/djmystykmike |

SW1000XG for sale
Simon Engelhart
Hi
I know this isn't exactly in topic but with the sw1000xg offering the ability to add the plg150-dx board (DX7 on a board basically), I thought some maybe interested. I am offering an SW1000XG + the PLG150 VH (Vocal Harmony) board for sale. Both items have been in my computer for 6 months but have just not been used, hence the sale. They were part of an oem system and therefore will not come in a sw1000xg box but are complete with manuals and drivers (though as with all yamaha computer stuff, the manuals ain't up to much). Sensible offers please to almax@.... As a guide the SW1000XG on its own retails at ?399 brand new with the daugherboards going between ?100 and ?200. Cheers Simon |
