DEar HC:
I just tried the dx7 files again the "all banks.zip"
I download and then the winzip tells me it's an "invalid archive". It won't
open the zip file.
I tried it a couple of times, any hints.
Sorry for my error.

Best Wishes and thanks for providing the files for us to view.

Hi all,

the download works, if you just go to do a little directory surfing, go to

then click on the two files to donwload and it works (something about the
naming in the pathe of the direct link must have gone wrong)

enjoy

Banks sent to TX7 end up in mono mode with portamento on

When I send banks of patches to my TX7 they all wind up in mono mode
with portamento turned on. When I send them to my DX7 they come in
fine. Any ideas?

Re: DX7 II Volume (Audio and Midi)

Hi David,

Don't know,
but it might have something to do with volume pedal.
I mean, If cubase sends a message
telling the DX7 that the volume pedal is set to "00".

Don't know, but why not?

Same thing when I connect DX7 Audio output to a mixer:

Anybody knows how to solve that?

I recently got the DX-200 from Yamaha.

My God, it's amazing. With the editor that comes with the unit on CD-
ROM, it's opened my mind to FM. The synth looks very simple from the
panel, but once you dive into the computer editor, you realize,
quickly, how deep everything becomes.

It's goofy, but I can't stop playing this instrument. :)

DX7 rom trades ? Dear List

Miracle Mary-Anne Music

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Dear DX7 LIST:
???? I have a couple of extra factory roms 3 and 4 for the dx7. Would someone on the list like to trade for dx7 or dx7IIfd rams or roms of other designations? (ie.1 or 2) Even some aftermarket roms/rams would be fine.
?
I believe the list stated some of the patches between the different rom 1-4 numbers are duplicates, but just in case there might be an interest I thought I'd mention it.
?
ALSO:?
(new to me)?
Is there a good/excellent pc librarian editor for the DX7IIfd E! GRAY MATTER card synth ? Does one use the same pc editors as the DX7IIfd (unisyn, soundiver, etc) or are there different pc programs for the E! option.
?
Thanks in Advance for any assistance.
Pete Francz

Re: FS1r, SY77, EX-5?

Thierry Pottier

My answer surely comes too late...
I'm new to the list, so...
and this is my first email to the list...

Months ago, I had downloaded those specifications:
They concern SY35 which is a SY22 with different sound samples.
If it can help you.

SY-35 SPECIFICATIONS

This specification list is for those people who, like me, loves to
know
every thing about all synthesizers (I love to look for every kind of

are
thinking of buying a SY-35.
If you are a SY-22 or TG-33 owner, don?t lose your time here and

can use a sample and a noise oscillator as additional
operators...

Okay, so I'm gathering that the 2 most powerful FM synths ever
made are the FS1r and the
SY-77/99? They each can make lots of sounds the other can't, but
each are (for the most part)
patch compatible with DX7 6-op? Am I right.

Your making me think I need to buy an SY77? What's the keyboard
action like on the SY-77/99? Or
would I be better off with a TG77? What does the PCM section sound
like, and how does this
interact with the FM synthesis?

Does the Yamaha EX-5/7 have FM, and if so, how good is it?

Anyone with experience with these synths, or other FM synths, I'd
love to hear from you about
your thoughts.

Thanks,

Shayme

p.s. Summa, are you on any other lists I'm on, or just the K5000?
