Inharmonicity is technically an expanding fan of harmonics like
this:
See how the harmonic peaks get wider and wider apart as you go
higher and higher in frequency?? This one is really exaggerated,
off the Yamaha VP1.? The next one is from a Trombone, it's pretty
normal, no inharmonicity.
Both of these plots are for the same pitched note.? Inharmonicity
does not simply mean dissonant harmonics, it means a specific
arrangement of dissonant harmonics.? The term was coined by
researchers back in and 80's and popularized by Yamaha back when
they were working on the Yamaha VP1 in the 90's.? The Piano is the
prime example of inharmonicity in research papers.

Only engineers and researchers actually know what it really
means.? But he should know better, I explained it in detail in
my paper on the VP1, which he read.? He made a lot of red-line
comments too, which I very carefully corrected.? He knows a
lot about the internal Yamaha VL1/VP1 politics which I could
only speculate on.? Anyway.
