I agree with you Thor regarding Formant Shaping it is only on the FS1r and it is really great (I also like the FDSP only found on the Yamaha EX5/R)
What I think is great on the EssenceFM is the way it has been structured
With the 300 voices of polyphony you can have (e.g. a mono patch using 300 layers so the Manny's Piano Sound could be achieve easily)
I am using almost all Wind Controllers (AKAI EWI serie, Aodyo Sylphyo, Roland Aerophone, I use to have WX7 and WX5 from Yamaha before they failed and I have ordered the new Berglund Instrument NuRAD just released. I try to play all my synths using wind Controller (including the Yamaha EX5R (). (sorry it is in French)
I am glad to talk to FS1R specialist I got mine recently second hand but in perfect condition

I've talked with Manny and I'm familiar with his Piano patch.? He did the ones on the FS1R too.? I've been digging into the Yamaha VP1 lately (yes I said the VP1, Manny has access to one right now!) and I think there is a way to match the Piano even closer... Inharmonicity is the key.? The harmonics of the Piano spread out slightly as you go higher in frequency, and I think we can get close to that on the FS1R.? You can only see the spread on a spectrum analyzer if you measure the peaks and put them into a spreadsheet, which I've done.? I think we can do a killer Piano patch.? I haven't had time to try it yet, though.??? I'll see if I can fit that in in the next few months.

Saxfred, I have a wind controller too, a BC3 on my Yamaha VL7.

The Kodamo Essence is really nice, but it just doesn't have Formants... I really like Formants.? The Montage and MODX don't have them either, which is odd.? They have the rest of the FS1R in there, so why leave out the Formants?

For the Montage and like there is a very good patch written bij Manny Fernandez.
If we could translate that patch to FS1R then we would be close...
