Re: FC-40 Flexibility
If you have not bought the FC40 look at the SG230. A way better tuner. I have found the FC40 to be temperamental wrt wire lengths. JD --------------------------------------------

FC-40 Flexibility
I'm really struggling to settle on an antenna for my first HF rig. I'm getting some good input on a related post in the FT-450D group.

Re: FC-40 & Raingutter Antenna
Yeah - it stopped working again. I had disconnected it from my FT-897D and run a different antenna off a LDG-897Plus ATU for a week. Reconnecting, it fails to function. Full un-install, re-install,

Re: FC-40 & Raingutter Antenna
The FC40 is an odd duck tuner. POS comes to mind. Mine now sits on my shelf reminding me how much I like my SGC 230. --------------------------------------------

Hmmm ... rf floating on coax braid towards the rig??? What antenna are you usin and what round system has the tuner to work against?!? Had similar trouble on filedday with my fc1000 (also an

Re: FC-40 & Raingutter Antenna
I switched to 107ft and 85ft random wires and still wasn't having any luck. I switched out to a new controller cables, added a lot of Mix 31 ferrite rods, and added a second ground rod wired to AC

FC-40 & Raingutter Antenna
I was using raingutter antenna with my FT-897D and was able to pick up quite a lot of chatter on 20m, 40m and 80m. The gutter downspout was connected to my MFJ-898D tuner wire post and a set of 1/4

For Sale: Yaesu FC-1000 Remote Antenna Tuner/Coupler
Yaesu FC-1000 Remote Antenna Tuner/Coupler was installed for a few experimental operations, with 25-30 foot long wire. Tuned and performed flawlessly on 80 – 10 with full power from FT-757.

Re: Yaesu 897D with FC-30 or FC-40 tuner
hi ken here, what you could try is to set the tuner set up on A and set up the 2mt twig on B so the rig dosnt think the swr is wayout and so dosnt shut down the power, might be worth trying, regards

Re: Yaesu 897D with FC-30 or FC-40 tuner
what might be the problem is what ever band your in the co-ax idealy needs to be in multiples of half waves so the rig sees the proper impedenceof the antenna,so if the fc30 is on the hf socket if is

FC-40 Antenna Post
I need to separate the FC-40 from the wire dipole antenna by a distance of 10 feet. What is the best way to connect the FC-40 antenna post to a wire dipole antenna? Thanks, Robert
