Re: Molex plug for FT847 power.
You could also try the rear panel connector for FT857 or FT897, seeing as
they are the same item, and more likely to be available

Re: FT8 and ALC
So for SSB modulation, the volume level is what sets the output power to a large extent. So both the power output setting on the radio and the volume setting on the computer interact. How do you

Re: FT8 and ALC
Peter, correct.? After that, I use the actual power control on the FT-847 to set my output power.

Re: Preference to an interfacing system
I used to use a remote rig interface on my TS480sat with great results https://www.remoterig.com/wp/?page_id=1051 or https://www.remoterig.com/wp/
The FT847 will interface but you will need remote

Re: Preference to an interfacing system
You should check the serial number of your 847 against the version
chart (somewhere on the 'Net - I forget where). The early versions

Re: Preference to an interfacing system
Something as simple as a USB to RS232 adapter and then dev/ttyUSB0 normally
My interface of choice is rather expensive but very reliable but you can get them from the internet here in the UK second
