Re: Preference to an interfacing system

Something as simple as a USB to RS232 adapter and then dev/ttyUSB0 normally?

My interface of choice is rather expensive but very reliable but you can get them from the internet here in the UK second user and quite cheap and that the BrainBoxes US-27501

? Remember the FT847 is Null modem connection to RS232 ports. You could use the Yaesu SC17 but that will only help you for VHF and UHF but will give you a standard com port without RTS and DTR and also create another port (uses same hardware connection but enhanced with RTS DTR pull-ups for PTT.). Mine is Com7 and Com8. I can’t see any reason building a 6 mini din socket and that can connect to a Yaesu 8 pin microphone socket. Yaesu advertise the SCU17 for just about every radio except the FT847 probably because it’s tricky to get it working with HF. Nearly all data ports on the FT847 are dedicated to VHF and UHF. Eg: 6 pin and 3.5mm data TNC.

? How this helps. Had to remove the video as I wasn’t sure it had any personal information in it…. Will post again but I just Skyped myself and listened to GreenCube data but obviously can be extrapolated for any satellite.
