Re: 847 stock ssb rx filter
There are two SSB filters...? One TX and one RX (owner's manual page 95).? Are both of yours narrow?? If not, you could try swapping them.? Using SPLIT or FAKE SPLIT in FT8 should keep your TX

847 stock ssb rx filter
My 847 has a 2100 or 2300 Hz Inrad filter
and want to find a stocker or even wider
the narrow filter is not the best when bangin away on 6M FT8 and the like
I know Inrad sold a 2800Hz filter, but even

Re: 70Mhz
Hi Brian,
I don't work 70MHz (yet!) but my ft847 stopped working on 7MHz. No TX or RX. A bit of digging later and I traced it to D3053 in the bpf. Replaced the pair in bpf 4 and it’s working a treat

Re: Looking for Replacement Sub Tune Encoder
You can repair the encoder: open up the? four retaining lugs on the encoder? which will allow you inside, you can then clean and re-tension the

Looking for Replacement Sub Tune Encoder
So I sold my FT-847 to help fund a IC-9700.? The ham who purchased it wanted to return it because he said the AM on the low bands had no carrier when the radio was keyed.? So I took it back as I was

Re: CAT CONTROL Software???

Early model 847’s did not have bidirectional CAT control by design from yaesu and therefore could not communicate with CAT software. YAESU realized this issue and later model 847’s were

Re: CAT CONTROL Software???
I use the RT Systems programming cable (Windows 10) which also works for CAT control using SatPC32. You have to set Menu #37 to 9600 bps for SatPC32 to work. You have to reset Menu #37 to 19200bps ( I

Re: CAT CONTROL Software???
I use my FT-847 for satellite exclusively. I use CAT control for automatic doppler shift frequency control. I use PSTRotator software for that and Omni-Rig software as well.
