FT-847 roofing filter mod
Hi all,
Anyone know if the board is still available for the mod adding the roofing filter to this radio? I’ve checked on the InRad site and the filter’s still there but not the board...

Re: 70Mhz
Hi Brian,
I don't work 70MHz (yet!) but my ft847 stopped working on 7MHz. No TX or RX. A bit of digging later and I traced it to D3053 in the bpf. Replaced the pair in bpf 4 and it’s working a treat

Someone posted a decent set of schematics recently. On page 6/7 you can

Re: Looking for Replacement Sub Tune Encoder
You can repair the encoder: open up the? four retaining lugs on the encoder? which will allow you inside, you can then clean and re-tension the
small pick up fingers and reassemble and refit to

70Mhz
Hi everyone,
I have owned my FT847 for a very long time, maybe 20 years. It is a UK version that has usually worked on 70Mhz, but has stopped putting any power out recently. The radio goes into TX on

Re: Looking for Replacement Sub Tune Encoder
I believe you buy them on EBay. I bought a sub tune encoder for my 847 there a year ago.......

Looking for Replacement Sub Tune Encoder
So I sold my FT-847 to help fund a IC-9700.? The ham who purchased it wanted to return it because he said the AM on the low bands had no carrier when the radio was keyed.? So I took it back as I was

Re: CAT CONTROL Software???
Gary
Early model 847’s did not have bidirectional CAT control by design from yaesu and therefore could not communicate with CAT software. YAESU realized this issue and later model 847’s were

Re: CAT CONTROL Software???
I use the RT Systems programming cable (Windows 10) which also works for CAT control using SatPC32. You have to set Menu #37 to 9600 bps for SatPC32 to work. You have to reset Menu #37 to 19200bps ( I

Re: CAT CONTROL Software???
I use my FT-847 for satellite exclusively. I use CAT control for automatic doppler shift frequency control. I use PSTRotator software for that and Omni-Rig software as well.

Re: Null cable
Hal I am talking about a straight through to null adapter. It plugs into
the radio's com port and the standard serial cable plugs into it

Re: Null cable
There is a mod somewhere
I saw that you can change the comm port but the $3.00 adapter is a cheaper
easier option.

Re: Null cable
I was looking at an early model with this issue. Yaesu said it is more
than just firmware. It required a board change. They did offer the fix
but no sadly more.
