I have an early FT-847 sitting on 40.680 FT8 right now.? I've also used it on 2M with no problems.? 432 is a bit of a problem as my Ft-847 is off by about 1.7khz on 432.? This is far enough away from where it should be that I have to set the freq dial to compensate.? The only 432 QSOs I've made have been during VHF/UHF contest.??
I use the simple circuit in the manual to de-mux?the transmit audio from PTT.? Works fine, just like HF.
