Re: FT847 on digi
开云体育Oh Yes I love that interface.?Ian’s nice design is Similar to mine which was a 600:600 transformer and 1k:8 ohm much like the pdf. ? I think I also used a 2N2222 and used it to drive a 2N33 optoisolation IC for the keying line via RTS pull-up. The rest was a cannibalised USB soundcard and the outputs and inputs tied in with the said transformers.? ? Later I believe I used a Bluetooth module and MAX232 to tie the RS232 port to Bluetooth with windows SPP controlling the slave and master. ? This played havoc with HRD due to the bluetooth ports being ignored by HRD. Solution was to go into settings and device manager and then the bluetooth comport and then change it to another port. Eg: port 5 to 6 and 7 to 8 as windows generates two com ports I believe one is master and the other slave. Don’t quote me on this but you want the slave from memory. Then run HRD and the port will work, even after reboot. Please don’t ask me why windows does this as it seems to pick up the stack once the port has changed.? ? Just an extra bit of isolation between radio and PC. Most HC-05 and HC-06 modules work as they can be configured to slave and you can even enter AT commands to rename the BT module to anything you like and also change the pin too. Sorry it went off topic but this was a bit of additional information from memory about 10 years ago. ? You can really make a good sound card interface from mere scraps of stuff and keep the cost under ?10 or $15.? ? ?Good luck and I’m not a big fan of FT8 or FT4 as some folk seem to be running QRO….. I always used JT65HF and WSPR at a few watts and worked the world from my Cushcraft ASL2010 and from the UK to VK land with -23 on JT65HF at around 4am in the grey zone during the summer and only 5w or less from my FT847.? De Spence M0STO? Sent while portable! please excuse typos. On 16 May 2023, at 21:23, Ian M <nightflyian@...> wrote:
