Did what you said and it came around, more or less. Had to make sure of freq, was listening 3977 and went to transmit it jumped to 7000.0

All is well so far. I wouldn’t have considered the battery pack as? the problem. Anyway, thanks. Maybe back for more advise.

I sent the same advice as a reply email to the group. For some reason it didn't seem to make the list.

Pop the batteries with the power off, leave it off for a bit then power on. The radio should come up on 7.000.00 and all tuning controls, buttons, etc. should be functional. If not, time to start digging further.
