开云体育eBay. Cheap and they work. Even from China.?Jardy Dawson WA7JRD Message sent from some electronic device that only the Manufacturer of said device really cares about.? On Nov 16, 2019, at 19:56, Brian DeLuca <w2emcnj@...> wrote:

If you feel like getting a battery with a decent run time for your ft60, go the DIY route with two lithium 18650 cells. Get the "protected" type NCR18650B (3350?mAh)?so that you can operate the radio all the way to low voltage cut-off without the worry of damaging the cells. It will double the run time of the radio, but also with these cells there is no voltage sag, no more resets when operating on high power. A BMS is not needed in this case as the cells will be removed and will get charged in parallel. As long as a proper lithium battery charger is used, this will be the last battery pack you will ever build for your ft60.

I haven't looked yet - I'm debating whether or not to pick up an FT-60R
before it's impossible to buy a new one - but I've bought excelent packs
for other radios from Batteries America.

Actually, I think the best solution is to buy the empty battery tray for the FT-60. Then buy some Eneloops or equivalent AA-sized NiMH batteries--you will need six per set.
Costco is where I've bought my battery sets--they typically have AA's and AAA's; a four cell charger; and may have adapters to use the AA's as C's or D's! They hold their charge for an extremely long time and are high capacity. For convenience, you might want to buy two sets so that you get enough charger space to charge all six cells at once. I also use these for my camera flash, so I have three sets: Plenty of cells; two chargers for the FT-60R; and one more charger for my camera bag. All of that provides plenty of cells for two sets of six for the radio and two sets of four for the photography plus extras for other uses (such as small flashlights). Hope you find that useful. 73, JERRY, N3AA |
