Look at the "S" meter when you push the PTT, like someone else said. Your battery may not be able to take the load of transmit. I had the same problem and found that I had burned up my OEM battery

When I start up the radio, it shows 7.4 volts. Don't I have to wait until the low battery symbol comes on before recharging, to avoid damaging the battery? Judy

Does the display blank out when you hit the PTT? If so, your battery needs charging. When you turn on the radio, it should display around 8.4 volts. Do NOT have it on any chargers when you do

Hoping for advice. I can program the radio for repeaters, and yes set the tone as needed. I hear everyone else just fine. But when I push PTT, I get the 3-tone startup sound and no one hears me. All

You have activated the WIRES function. Look for the 'atom' symbol on the keyboard and hit that key to make it disappear. You may have to press and hold the key for a couple seconds. Look it up in

WIRES is on. If so, there is a small atom symbol in the upper right corner of the display. To turn it off, momentarily touch the 0 key. ?Sent from BlueMail ?
