Re: Comm Settings for Programming FT-60 With CHIRP
I've always used purpose-specific software (i.e., not CHIRP) to program my Yaesu handhelds but I have used CHIRP to program some cheap Chinese radios.
I haven't made any programming changes to my

They work. I

Re: Can't Program Yaesu FT-60R From Keyboard
Great!
We often forget that most all modern radios are small "computers" and
sometimes require rebooting to restore original functionality.

Re: Can't Program Yaesu FT-60R From Keyboard
Hello Mark,
I finally got brave and decided to do an F1 SETRST.
That has fixed the problem:-)
I was very reluctant to do any level of reset before backing the radio up as I have a LOT of stuff

You've also tried the minor Reset of the radio as well, short of clearing
your memory settings as well?

Re: Can't Program Yaesu FT-60R From Keyboard
Did you check to see if the keyboard lock is on? There will be key icon on the display when this is on. Press and hold the 6 key to toggle this.

Re: Help programming Yaesu FT-65R with Chirp
Yaesu does have their own programming software, I installed it. And the cable is genuine Yaesu SCU-59 from HRO. The problem is in my laptop, not the radio, the software, the driver, or the cable.

Re: Help programming Yaesu FT-65R with Chirp
Chris,
Yaesu does not have their own programming software (at least I don’t think so - You have a Yaesu cable?). RT systems makes programming software for Yaesu radios.

Re: Help programming Yaesu FT-65R with Chirp
I thought the Yaesu SCU-35 or SCU-59 cable worked with the '65 ...
And yes: Licensees of RTSystems' titles love them (g).

Re: Help programming Yaesu FT-65R with Chirp
Do Yaesu themselves have programming software for that radio? Also, how hard is it to program from the front panel?

Re: Help programming Yaesu FT-65R with Chirp
Some cables marked as Prolific have a problem with their programming chip. You might try rolling back the chip driver to 3.2.0.0. This driver can be found at www.miklor.com. This is a great website

It's a modern classic! If you could add or improve one feature through a firmware update, what would that be? I would add some more tuning step sizes.

Re: connecting to FT-60 commander?
Once you hit PTT, you must initiate the upload in the software. Have you tried Chirp? It works well also.

Re: connecting to FT-60 commander?
China has put out cables with fake Prolific chips in them. Prolific has made it so their latest and greatest drivers will not work with those cables. That’s why you need to roll back the driver to
