Re: Battery Replacement
I haven't looked yet - I'm debating whether or not to pick up an FT-60R
before it's impossible to buy a new one - but I've bought excelent packs
for other radios from Batteries America.

Should I Buy One?
Hi folks.
I already have enough HT's here... Kenwood TH-D74A, Yaesu FT-70DR, and a TYT MD-UV380 UHF (for DMR). But, I picked all of those up before I started hearing people talk about the FT-60R,

Re: Battery Replacement
If you feel like getting a battery with a decent run time for your ft60, go the DIY route with two lithium 18650 cells. Get the "protected" type NCR18650B ( 3350?mAh) so that you can operate the

I wanted to get a replacement battery for my FT-60 HT. I was considering

Re: Another trouble removing ft60 memory channel
Use V/M to switch to memory mode.
Press and *hold* FW briefly.
Use the top dial to change to the channel you want to clear.
Press HM/RV.

Re: Another trouble removing ft60 memory channel
What about a factory reset? If you have a lot of other stuff programmed it may not be worthwhile.

Re: Another trouble removing ft60 memory channel
Hi Tom,
I tried it on my FT-60 and it worked as described. The only thing I would note is that I pressed the HM/RV key firmly. The display immediately switches to my channel 1 repeater name.

Re: Another trouble removing ft60 memory channel
You can overwrite the mistake memory channels or use software like CHIRP or FT-60 Commander found at www.kc8unj.com. Does require having a programming cable, can be found on EBay.

Re: Looking for some advice about batteries
Yaesu sells a 12V cable that plugs into the FT60 on the side and has a car 12V lighter plug on the other. The newer FT-60 will run off of the cable but will not charge the battery. Yaesu removed a

Re: Flashing "Save"
The FT-60 is by far the easiest radio I have found to program manually. The functions you need to program can be done by using ¡®F¡¯(function) key and keys 1-4.
I suggest writing yourself a

Re: Flashing "Save"
So if the flashing save icon annoys you just set it to "off". You can always perform a reset of preferences or memories back to factory settings if you need to also. Don't be afraid to push buttons.

Re: Flashing "Save"
Thanks, Bill. What do you set it at?
What actually happened was a
"double fault". the radio froze, and what I could see, was the
flashing "Save" so was focused on that.
