Re: Can I use the Yaesu SAD-25 power supply instead of the Yaesu SAD-24 power supply to charge my Yaesu FT-60R/E?

There are two versions.? I believe the older one could be charged thru the DC jack. I believe, however the newer ones cannot.? And, no, I have no idea why the change.

Hank,
The SBH-13 needs a 12V power input.

I have the FT-60R with the SBH-13 charging cradle and the FNB-83 7.2 v NiMH battery.

Used Price for FT-60R?

开云体育

What is the current used price for an FT-60R in great shape, with two brand new batteries and the stock drop-in charger?

?

I don’t have the original box or the printed manual, but I do have the stock rubber duck.

The SAD-25 is intended for the FT5DR radio.
?
The SAD-24 is for the charge cradle SBH-13.

Which cradle do you have? And is your radio an "R" or an "E?"?

Either are absolutely fine to use.

I am glad to read, that it worked for you!

Re: FT-60 transmitting off frequency on 70cm

I finally got around to adjusting the PLL reference frequency today. I used my SDR and while transmitting, just turned the reference frequency up until it lined up with the desired frequency. Now both 2m and 70cm transmissions are right on frequency and all distortion/clipping is gone. Thanks for your help, Chris!

Re: FT-60 transmitting off frequency on 70cm

Hi Ryan,
?
If yor TX frequency is off, then the PLL reference frequency needs adjustment.
It is normal, that a frequency error is about three times higher on 70cm than on 2m.
?
If you record the original setting, you can just give it a try. If it does not correct the problem, you can revert to the original setting.
A trustworthy frequency counter makes the adjustment easier and more precise.
?
It is also possible, that your radio has another problem, not related to the reference oscillator setting.
?

Re: FT-60 transmitting off frequency on 70cm

Hi Chris,

Is it the PLL reference frequency that needs to be adjusted? Are you able to tell me what the actual function of that is and what I should be looking for when adjusting? I don't have a frequency counter, so using an SDR is the best I have.

Thanks,

Ryan - VK3DCR

For ham radio frequencies, the radio should be set for wide. ?Public safety and commercial freqs are narrow.?

Hello,

I have noticed that my FT-60 transmit audio is a bit distorted/clipping when transmitting on 70cm. I have tested this with recording the receive audio on my Anytone 878, UV5R and UBCD436 scanner. All of them hear this distorted audio. I set my SDR up to 431.150mhz and when I transmit with the FT-60, it's extending beyond the edges of the 12.5khz bandwidth. The other radios are much closer to the set frequency and don't have this issue. Is there a way to calibrate the FT-60 transmit frequency at all? Can I do it for 70cm only or is there a menu setting of some sort which helps with this? Transmitting on 2m doesn't have this issue as it's much closer to the selected frequency.

Here is my Anytone transmit. It's slightly off but the audio is perfectly fine and readable with no distortion/clipping:

And my FT-60 transmit. It's extending beyond the bandwidth and sounds like it's clipping on louder sounds in normal conversation:

I believe this misalignment or calibration issue is what's causing the clipping/distorted sound. I'd really appreciate anyone's help on this! Thanks.
