Re: FT-60 transmitting off frequency on 70cm

For ham radio frequencies, the radio should be set for wide. ?Public safety and commercial freqs are narrow.?

Hello,

I have noticed that my FT-60 transmit audio is a bit distorted/clipping when transmitting on 70cm. I have tested this with recording the receive audio on my Anytone 878, UV5R and UBCD436 scanner. All of them hear this distorted audio. I set my SDR up to 431.150mhz and when I transmit with the FT-60, it's extending beyond the edges of the 12.5khz bandwidth. The other radios are much closer to the set frequency and don't have this issue. Is there a way to calibrate the FT-60 transmit frequency at all? Can I do it for 70cm only or is there a menu setting of some sort which helps with this? Transmitting on 2m doesn't have this issue as it's much closer to the selected frequency.

Here is my Anytone transmit. It's slightly off but the audio is perfectly fine and readable with no distortion/clipping:

And my FT-60 transmit. It's extending beyond the bandwidth and sounds like it's clipping on louder sounds in normal conversation:

I believe this misalignment or calibration issue is what's causing the clipping/distorted sound. I'd really appreciate anyone's help on this! Thanks.
