Re: Comm Settings for Programming FT-60 With CHIRP
I've always used purpose-specific software (i.e., not CHIRP) to
program my Yaesu handhelds but I have used CHIRP to program some
cheap Chinese radios.
I haven't made any programming changes to my cheap Chinese radios
with CHIRP for quite some time (except for a recently-added
Quansheng) but I don't recall ever needing to know the
communications settings such as you presented.? It's as if CHIRP
already knows this information based on the mfr and model number
of the radio.
It's curious to me that you needed to do this.

We often forget that most all modern radios are small "computers" and sometimes require rebooting to restore original functionality.?

And yes, I know how to do it. I have had the radio for

The radio will no longer accept any manual programming.
I can't find a "Program Lockout" SET function.
I read somewhere that the memory programming either gets

I am reluctant to to use any of the F1-F4 Memory Clear

Re: connecting to FT-60 commander?
China has put out cables with fake Prolific chips in them. Prolific has made it so their latest and greatest drivers will not work with those cables. That’s why you need to roll back the driver to 3.2.0.0. This will work.?
I will have to do some research to see where exactly the Alternate Write method button is located. Been a while since I’ve used the program.?

Jardy,
Thank you for your attention and suggestions.
Don't think I have seen an "alternate write method", or at least
don't know how to...
Device manager >Ports... >Prolific... >Properties
> General "...device working properly"
>Driver v3.8.31.1
I believe that is the correct cable. I have another which DM
identifies only as FTDI.
Do they use different drivers? They call for different available
com ports.
Consistent with my age tendencies (old), I am using Win7.
The Miklor.com site seems like a good
resource. I will try the older driver.

Have been unable to
finish connection via FT-60 Commander programming
software.
I get to a window which says hold down PTT, in doing
that I see "listening" on screen, but nothing else loads
or occurs after that.
Any suggestions?
