Re: Replacement battery blues
Chargers for Li-Ion battery is nothing very special, the battery normally has the BMS circuit built-in. This BMS board manages or takes care of making sure that the cells inside the battery are charged equally/correctly and it ends the charging when the charge level is full to prevent damage.? My guess is that the drop-in charger does not deliver sufficient current or voltage.?

Re: Replacement battery blues
I bought a used FT60 from a friend and he included a couple batteries and the factory charger.? Battery 1 shows full charge but the radio shuts down as soon as I key up the radio. Battery 2 is dead Battery 3 shows full charge then drops to 6 volts. So I bought a new battery, 2200MaH NiMH? ? When I place it in the charger I get the red light then towards the end of the charging the red lite blinks. Never saw that with other Ft60 I've owned. Is that normal? K3CLT Chuck Tobias

female DC power plug ISO
i can get one with the entire wall wart, etc.? just need the plug that goes into the radio for charging.? experimenting with using a USB style charging system in lieu of a need for the AC transformer or a cigarette lighter power source.? only missing link is the female barrel plug.? ideas???

Charging Ni-MH battery with the Li-ion Charger
John Cavuoti Sr
I have had my FT-60 HT for a number of years.? It has been my go to radio over all others.
I have two NI-MH batteries for the radio and just purchased a Li-Ion battery for the unit.? Due to the different requirements of the Li-ion battery I had to buy a charger specifically designed for that battery. Right now I charge the Ni-MH batteries in the radio because I've had two desk chargers fail.?? Can I use the new Li-Ion charger for the Ni-MH batteries as well. Thanks in advance. Jack NZ5TX |

I found a three-pack of replacement batteries on Amazon for a friend who's radio was doing the same thing. Search for "(3-Pack)

Two FT-60's and multiple AA battery trays here.? Some NMHi rechargeables?fit better than others, but much prefer replacing out a few AA's over tossing used up Yaesu battery packs when they die, and of course they all do eventually. FBA-25A
Thank you, I will check Batteries America for a battery pack. Another question: right now I have the FBA-25A battery case in the radio. The case is frighteningly tight and quite difficult to "force" into the radio with batteries installed. (It's even quite tight when empty.) With some batteries, it wouldn't fit into the radio at all. Has anyone else had this problem? I've seen mentioned the FBA-25. One seems to have replaced the other, but is there a difference? Thanks everyone. Battery it was. Fully charged NiMH in adapter and problem solved. Time to shop for a new battery pack. That's usually an indication the battery is bad or not charged. It has enough power on receive, but not on transsmit. Dave - WB6DHW On 9/16/2021 8:38 AM, KJ Bald via groups.io wrote:

开云体育Try transmitting at low or medium power. That’s usually plenty for most line of sight repeaters. On Sep 16, 2021, at 10:41, KJ Bald via groups.io <kjbtoo@...> wrote:
