I can't get my FT-60 to Scan
I am having problems getting my FT-60 to scan. I know that scanning has worked on it before, and, don't know if I have set some deeply hidden parameter of something - but - now I'm having problems.? Here is a run? down.
1. I loaded a bunch of repeaters into the FT-60 using RT Systems' FT-60 Programmer.? I got that to work with no problem? They are in the main memory bank.?? 2. Everything appears to be working fine, and, they scan as long as I hold down the MHz up or MHz down buttons, but, as soon as I let release the buttons the scanning stops. 3. I have played with the RESUME setting and tried Busy and Time. 4. I have checked and the Skip setting is turned off on all of the frequencies. Scanning works fine as long as I hold down the buttons, but, as soon as I release them scanning stops.? Anybody got any suggestions.? I'm out of ideas. As I said, scanning has always worked in the past - so -unless I have developed a circuitry problem (which seems unlikely) - it must be a parameter setting somewhere that I'm missing HELP!! Re: N Adapter on FT-60?
开云体育I use to the FT-60 at home with a rooftop vertical. The coax is low loss and rather large diameter. Instead of connecting the big coax to the FT-60 I use a 3 foot length of RG-316 with an SMA connector on each end. The shift between Type N and SMA is done at the RG-316 to Type N junction. Damaging a 3 foot jumper that sells for $10.00 if you buy it is far easier to deal with than replacing a SMA snapped off on the radio. Don’t ask how I know. FT-60’s were not built to be serviced.?Regards Chuck ? ?WD4HXG It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. Re: N Adapter on FT-60?
Yes - they are made.
No - you shouldn’t do it. That adapter and that heavy coax will place a lot or stress/strain on your HT’s delicate center conductor of the antenna receptacle ...? Use a 12” jumper cable instead. But please avoid an adapter for this. -- Clint Bradford K6LCS http//www.work-sat.com |

Re: Opening up the FT 60/MARS Modificatoin
Yes, you are correct. I should have been more specific when speaking about emergencies.
