I use to the FT-60 at home with a rooftop vertical. The coax is low loss and rather large diameter. Instead of connecting the big coax to the FT-60 I use a 3 foot length of RG-316 with an SMA connector on each end. The shift between Type N and SMA is done at the RG-316 to Type N junction. Damaging a 3 foot jumper that sells for $10.00 if you buy it is far easier to deal with than replacing a SMA snapped off on the radio. Don’t ask how I know. FT-60’s were not built to be serviced.?

?Alright, that makes sense. Thanks. I was just trying to add one component to the line instead of what is basically three.
