Re: FT-60R Main Board
We can hammer out the details via direct message but it won’t be that much. You pay shipping both ways and for any replacement parts needed plus a small flat fee. Most likely it will just need a good cleaning and a conductor replaced.? |

Re: FT-60R Main Board
Jonathan,
I know for a fact that there was no water damage.? I had some alkalines in it last year, and they went bad with minor battery acid damage.? The radio was working fine (and still is now), but the monitor button stopped working suddenly. I will get it back from Yaesu next week.? How much would you charge to repair it? Thanks - Samer K6SKH |

Re: Question
The other repeaters, during the times when the ducting seems to be occurring, are close to 100 miles away.? The three repeaters' custodians have had conversations and our repeater does not usually affect theirs much at all.? The digital doesn't matter on their end; the other is a club-owned repeater and many of us know each other and have coordinated PL tones, etc. so when the atmospherics come into play we operate as though we have a? shared repeater.? We have the same ENC/DEC settings and things work out quite well.? The digital repeater is the primary problem and we both (analog guys) have eliminated the giant footprint that the digital unit has.

开云体育Not to mention it takes a short amount of time for the radio to notice the CTCSS tone and open the squelch.
Anyway, I sure hope Dora comes back with whatever the solution to her problem turns out to be... I was stumped and am very curious now! :)

Re: Question
You do not "have" to have your PL decode on for your radio. You need it if you want to listen only to that repeater. I prefer to not use PL decode because then I can hear if there is any atmospheric ducting going on. As an example, I live in Northern Virginia and I sometimes can hear repeaters up in Pennsylvania, etc. It's a personal preference. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Question
Hi, Dora.
Is it possible that the repeater output has a tone that needs to be decoded to open up the audio, rather than simply on the input?? In my area we use the encode/decode option, meaning that not only do you have to enter a PL tone for the input side, but also for the output side of the repeater.? The reason we do end/dec is because we have two repeaters well away from us (including a digital repeater) that used to blast right into our radios with noise or conversations in other cities when the atmospherics were just right to cause FM ducting.? Until we put the decode PL tone into the repeater and our radios there were occasions when our club members simply turned their radios off, or listened to repeaters other than our main repeater.? This helped dramatically, so perhaps your repeater does the same with the ENC/DEC feature, or your radio may have the wrong PL tone set.? Since your scanner can hear the input side but not the repeater output side I am suspecting a PL tone issue more than anything. 73 Jim Quinn AJ1MQ Longview, TX |
