FT60 Headphones?
I want to be able to use headphones just to listen. Something like a pair of earbuds. I do NOT want a speaker mike or anything like that. Does anyone have an easy solution,? like an off the shelf

Re: Battery Latch Too Tight?
Forgot to mention that, but that¡¯s what I meant about being ¡°old-school¡±, back when radios had metal cases and felt solid, not like plastic ¡°walkie-talkies¡± that we played with as kids.

Re: Battery Latch Too Tight?
Yep, lots of metal too. I almost want to pick up a second one to just put away... What's next, Motorola gear? ?

Re: Battery Latch Too Tight?
Personally, I¡¯d rather have it the way it is than to be loose and flimsy. This is just one of the features that makes the FT-60 that much better than some of the newer radios. It LOOKS old-school

Re: Battery Latch Too Tight?
hmm ok, thanks Phil, I'll try that... just a little compression might do the trick. 73 Chris

Re: Battery Latch Too Tight?
Well, I did pick up a second pack for this radio, but honestly, the first one lasts so long I may not use it often. ?

Re: Battery Latch Too Tight?
I squeeze the battery and radio firmly between a thumb and forefinger and the latch pops open with a flick of my other forefinger. It's secure and I don't need a tool or coin. -- Phil, KC6OEI

Re: Battery Latch Too Tight?
The battery latch is intentionally tight. There is a water seal around the perimeter of the battery that's designed to keep moisture and dust out of the radio. Without the tight latch, there would not

Re: Battery Latch Too Tight?
Mostly, I don't want to force it unnecessarily and damage it at all. Hmm, pocket knife is a good idea.

Battery Latch Too Tight?
I don't have fingernails really, and I'm finding that little battery latch to be extremely hard to open. I'm glad the tolerances are so tight with this radio generally, including the drop-in

Re: DTMF Transmit Lag?
nope.? I'm not hearing a single 0 sent when I key up. I'm just talking about the fact that after dialing the last digit, the radio keeps transmitting for a little while, even if the PTT isn't being

Your WIRES feature isn't enabled, is it? -- Clint Bradford K6LCS http//www.work-sat.com

DTMF Transmit Lag?
Hi. I regularly send commands to my Allstar node from my FT-60, but the fact that it keeps transmitting a second or two after the last DTMF is sent keeps me from hearing the first part of any

Re: What Are My Battery Options?
Many affix the speaker mike to their shirt lapel. Theory is that reduces the current draw of the audio amp.
