Battery Eliminator Info?
Has anyone had experience of using the dummy battery cases fitted with a voltage regulator that let you use the FT60 via the 12 volt socket fitted in cars? These units are available from ebay sellers

It should work fine. I use mine directly from my car's electrical system, which if anything should be less well-regulated, but it works well. If you want to be extra cautious, a fuse of about 2 amps

I have used a cigar lighter cord sure, sometimes you get alternator whine as its not filtered well. I also picked up a 12 V cord from Yaesu for the ft60 and hook it to 12.6 V SLA battery for long term
