It should work fine.? I use mine directly from my car's electrical system, which if anything should be less well-regulated, but it works well.
If you want to be?extra cautious, a?fuse of about?2 amps in the cord that feeds your radio might be prudent, though?the fuse?should?make no?difference?unless there's already a fairly serious malfunction in your HT.
