G'day Giovanni,
I agree that the FT60s are all just as great.
But there is always a but.
The automatic off after a set period is not off enough to stop the battery going flat. So alkaline cells are vulnerable.?
Some NiMh cells have a significant self discharge rate so it's charge before use.?
The Yaesu charging cradle is very useful.
I use a tiger/rat tail/counterpoise and a Comet SMA24 for extended range.

Yaesu started shipping the FT-60R - US model - with a different charger in 2013-ish.

But no - your "E" with be as magnificent as any of them!

Batteries are available from your authorized Yaesu dealer. OR ... in the US,?
batteriesamerica.com has options.

AND - the Yaesu FBA-25 AA Case - you can populate it with six NiMH cells or AA
Alkalines - and have full TX power available (if you really need it).
