I have 2 trays with Enloop batteries. The clip will not close with the Enloop batteries in them. Am I the only one with that problem?

Actually, many of us are using NiMH batteries we have bought in AA cell size, the Eneloop brand from Panasonic (who, apparently, bought the brand from Sanyo). You would also need the FT-60 battery tray that holds six cells. It only takes a minute to remove the tray from the radio, empty it, insert new batteries, and reinstall the tray but, of course, you could buy a second tray if changeover time is critical for your use. These batteries come precharged and are claimed to hold their charge for quite a few years when not used.

Costco carries them in sets of AA's plus some AAA's and a charger at very reasonable prices. I recommend getting two sets because you then have two 4-cell chargers (allowing charging a six-pack load all at once.

I actually have three sets because I also use them in my camera flash and the third set gives me an extra charger for my camera bag.

Good luck and 73!
