FYI,
?
I guess the law needs to be changed at some point in time!
?
That will happen when the receivers will be able to detect digital LOL
?
Until then Happy monitoring!

Good point about the phones being digital ? so you have to wonder why they are cellular (frequency) blocked!? That?s legislation for you.

Most ALL cell phone systems today are digital in nature so monitoring with a conventional radio will not work so I would not even be concerned about this any longer.
Most if not all Cell phones manufactured today are digital in nature!
It is good though that the FT-60 works in this band as I am sure there are other services which will end up there at some point in time.
ECPA (Electronics Communications Privacy Act) and some legislation that
followed a few years later makes it illegal to monitor cell phone
conversations.

Ah, so for the techno savy out there, lets take a break from putting down
this radio and lets come up with a strategy for plugging the hole!? What are
the legal issues concerning monitoring the cell frequencies.? Certainly, you
can't disclose to third parties, but I don't think anybody can stop you from
listening.? The fathers'
of the constitution may not of had this (radio) in
mind but I think it is ok.
