I guess you guys know this, but I was told the 101 output tubes are the sweep tubes used in the old tube TVs. I suspect it was a smart move as Yaesu probably figured these tubes would be around for a

FT-101ZD Tubes
Just a note to ask if anyone is using 12 volt versions of the 6146B tubes in the "ZD"??? The 8298As have served well but getting pretty weak.

Dave,
Lee had me check the diodes on the rectifier board (PB-1076B). Both D6&7 were cracked. They control the 13.5vdc circuit. So, replacements have been ordered. Hopefully this will fix the problem

Check the bulb that is in the front panel plastic escutcheon as well, it illuminates little dial indicator triangle.? It could be shorted.? I found mine cracked.

I have the FT-101B schematic blown up to 54x18 and I got a copy laminated. Now I can mark all over it and wipe it away when I am done
