You are welcome Alistair. ?One other recommendation, if you haven’t done this already: install an Alpha Delta ATT3G50U Transi-Trap (TM) Surge Protector at the RF socket or somewhere in the coaxial RF feed-line. ?They use a gas-discharge tube, spark-gap cartridge (Alpha Delta calls an Arc-Plug) with gap set to allow unimpeded transmission of RF less than or equal to 200 watts, while a short-circuit occurs by breakdown, above 200 watts, per Alpha Delta Specifications. ?This will provide significant protection from electromagnetic pulse (EMP) occurrences, man-made or natural, such as near lightening strikes. ?Of course, I recommend disconnecting the feed-line altogether when any risk of any type EMP exists, and when the station is not in use. ?Here is a review:?
Here is a good technical paper discussing actual expected breakdown values of the gas discharge tubes used:?
May God bless you.
