I cannot help with your questions but I have recently been investigating my 'deaf' '101Z <see elsewhere on here> including examining as much of it as is accessible without 'removing' anything.? Do you have any photographs of the wafer switch and unidentified capacitor and their location?? I would like to compare your set with my own.? Thanks.
