Hi, all. Tonight I unfortunately put too many volts thru my FTM-200 and burned it up. Anyone know if this is repairable? Maybe burned and internal fuse or diode? Appears the FTM-500 has an internal fuse. Also looking for a schematic for this radio. Thanks for reading. Erick KE0SMR

I'm hoping there are some old-timers hanging around here. I have an FT-530 I've had since 1998. I use it a lot, and have not had a total memory failure in decades, until recently. While changing the memory backup battery, something went wrong and it went to "factory reset". I have restored all the important stuff, but one thing I had was the OFF display showed the battery voltage. Now it shows the clock. I can't find anywhere in the manual or my cheatsheets how to get back to the battery voltage display. I do know how to get the secondary display to show battery voltage, and that is not what I'm looking for. I also know how to set it to have nothing display when off. Anybody know what I'm missing? The microphone cable on my FT-8800 has given up the ghost, and no longer works properly. The insulation has worn out, exposing bare copper. hi, there is standard a 500hz cw filter in the second if, 8,83mhz most it be activated or can be deactivated per menu, or is it all the time present in cw mode, i have the radio only since few days carlos on6cn

Dear OMs, I work my DX10 with an EFHW on 40/20/15/10m and a 1:64 Balun. Tuning was working fine for a while and I had rapports 55 to 59 within Europe. I never saw the "High SWR" warning in the display, worked SSB only and did either have SWR or Power displayed in the meter. I also checked operation with a chain of power attenuators. SWR 1.1 or less here without tuning. After Power up I can tune on the band where it is with the normal long relais klicking and also transmit with full power. When I switch the band eg. 7MHz to 14MHz and press the tune button long there is only a short relay click and tuning ends. No error message, it's just back in rx. With a short press I can switch tuning on/off. Now in this case there is no TX power output. When I try to send the TX light is on, power setting is at 100W but the power meter is fixed at zero. After a complete system power cycle I can transmit again with full power. The Device is ~3 Month old, nothing gets hot, all is clean. AS said above I get the same with antenna and attenuator at the output. Anybody an idea? Is there a way to delete stored tuner data only? I received the info to try a factory reset, but this would also kill my audio settings I did several weeks ago. 73 DC0LA

I was looking for something else but saw this: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807074956396.html It's an external S-Meter for certain Yaesu radios for under $10 with free shipping. I can't vouch for the quality but even if the accuracy is off, it might be useful for a relative strength S-Meter. It only lists a few Yaesu radios but I would think any that have the same port that this plugs into might work with it, and if not, you're only out less than $10. You could sell it on your ARRL section swap site or take it with you to a hamfest if you're selling these. I've seen almost an identical S-Meter for these radios selling for many times more than this price, so I have to wonder if the vendor of that one bought these here? I was hoping to find one for Icom radios or my 767 GX but I really don't need one for the 767, just my Icom 705, 7300, or 7100. Please--no China bashing. I'm not of Chinese descent, and don't like what's happening in the SE Asian area, but this isn't a group were we allow political discussions. CHina is capable of making some very high quality items for a moderate price, and some low quality items at a very low price, of course. I'm typing this on a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop, one of three that I have, and it's made as well as when IBM owned the ThinkPad trademark (before they sold the ThinkPad line to Lenovo). Since these are relatively inexpensive, I don't know if these are poorly made or not, but the price may be worth trying one if you have a radio that works with these. Donald KX8K

HI - use the FT-857 since long time for all Modes - no problems. Now last IARU 6m Contest would switch to CW for QSO. But the keyer does'nt work anymore. Left paddle - dots Right - nothing when I change to REVERSE Left paddle - dash Right - nothing MICKEY - up/dn - dot/dash works. ELEKEY - up/dn - works normal Has anybody an idea ? TNX Erich

Hi, I have a yaesu ft-747gx that works great, but the frequency readout is off by about 7khz on AM and SSb. I recently replaced the détented tuning knob, which was frequency jumping, with an optical encoder. Radio works great and frequency jumping is gone. I believe the readout was off before I made the mod. Anyway, My question is, what part of a radios alignment procedure will bring the readout back to spec? Im guessing it’s the PLL alignment adjustment, but I’m not sure. There arent any dedicated groups for the ft-747gx/heath sb-1400 that exist, so I figured this is the next best place. Today I picked up an ft - 690R II Its complete rig but I'll have to buy some new batteries for it and a charger. I'd love to find a working amplifier for that model but nothing shows up on eBay. I was able to put together an AC adapter for it and power it on it seems to be working okay but I haven't done any kind of calibration checks for it. If anyone has any experience with this model I appreciate any and all input. 73!

I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the audio level when sending CW and monitoring my sending. Any ideas out there? I don't see anything relating to this in the Manual.

For reasons unknown. my G-2800 only rotates CCW at Slow Speed and has no speed control in that direction. It works normally in the CW direction. It has been up since 2018 (bought new) turning a 4 El Steppir (6-20M) beam w/o a problem. I am hoping the problem is in the controller and can be fixed w/o having to take down the beam to get the rotator out. Does anyone have a chart of the voltages that come from the standard Yaesu G-2800DXA controller? Thanks, Alan K9MBQ

Hi all, I've decided to sell my beloved pair of 9000s. I wanted to give the Yaesu owners first chance to purchase them. #1 FTDX-9000D - pastel blue LEDs. 10/10 cosmetic and function. Factory box. SP-9000 also 10/10 included. PEP Upgrade. #2 FTDX-9000 (fully upgraded Contest, for all intents and purposes a full D) 10/10 cosmetic and function. PEP Upgrade. Factory box has all the D options checked except internal TFT screen & 160 u-tune unit. I purchased and installed the 160 u-tune unit, works perfectly and all u-tune units are now there. Instead of the TFT, it has the extra meters and function knobs where the TFT normally goes (just like the MP 400W model). Umber (amber) display. SP-9000 also 10/10 included. Since the Contest does not have an internal monitor, I am including a 12" Eyoyo external monitor (driven by the DMU-9000).
